Do You Consider Yourself To Be Intelligent?

I have never and will never consider myself clever. You get people who call you clever but thats because i know something that they may not know or may not know as much as i do in a certain field and likewise they may know something better than me which i may not know much of and it goes on like that. I believe there are people who have more common sense than others but I just have never managed to believe in the word 'clever'. Because you may be clever in one thing but be completely dumb in another so why should I call you clever. It would be more sensible if i say 'ah you are clever but only in this ceratin topic'. Worst is when i meet people who considers themselves clever just because of their academic grades and success. To those people I say 'Hey I know you can stick your head in a book all day but that does not classify you as clever'. I have actually seen and its something everyone knows that if you spend more time studying the subject you are doing than wasting your time with other things then obviously you will gain a better grade than one who hadn't put as much effort as you did, its logic. Right or wrong? Or have i gone completely off track?

I consider myself average. I've seen more intellectual intelligent persons and it can be knowledge in anything and everything.. You are right, bro..it doesn't have to be knowledge in a paper qualification which equates to intelligence. Intelligence can be in any areas and anyone could be, no matter how paper clever they are. Good discussion here, have a nice day.. ;)

I consider myself intelligent. I don't study as much as some brainiacs, but I get excellent grades. It doesn't matter how long you study, it matters how well you study. Too many people waste time trying to memorize every little detail, when in reality exams usually ask about big-picture issues. Then those people end up with largely useless information. I think I am pretty clever - I often notice details others don't, and I don't know how to explain it but I often have a different perspective on things than most people. Maybe "clever" has more to do with how you can come up with timely, or alternative, solutions to things.
