Hello, I am not sure about all of you but with my family we always do left overs or we try to make something new with the left overs. We never throw out the food till it is no longer eatable or becomes no good. Well on Sunday I made Spaghetti with homemade sauce. So I ended up with leftover sauce. So last night I sent my hubby down to the store to pick up some Italian Bread. Then I cut off the top of the bread about 2 inches down and then sat the top aside. I then dug out the inside of the bread, then I put about 1/2 inch of cheese on the inside of the hollow bread bowl. Then I preceeded in making elbow noodles for the left over sauce. I then mixed all that together. Then I took the Goulash and put about 2 inches worth in the bread bowl and started layering the goulash and cheese back and forth. Then when it got filled(You want it to overspill) I put about 1/2 cup of cheese on top of the goulash and then sprinkled some Parmesan cheese on top and then put the bread top back on the top. Then I stuffed it in the oven for 25 minutes and it was dinner time. Boy did my hubby love it. My boys are little so they ate a little bit of the bread and ate a little bit of goulash. Oh yeah if you want to make this, you want the Elbow noodles half way done because they will finish cooking in the oven. When you take it out, cut it into 5 peices and serve. Hope you all like this idea. Happy Mylotting

That sounds really good. I love pasta and I love bread. Baked pasta is good. I might have to try something like that sometime. I was going to make pasta tonight, but my kids didn't want that tonight. Maybe if I make it in the bread bowl like you did they would go for it better. They both love bread.

Well since you said that your children love bread then I am sute that they would try it because it would be the way to get to the bread. Plus what is great is that the bread soaks in some of the sauce as it bakes. Plus it taste so good together when it is baked because some of the pasta is crunchy like the bread. To me crunchy pasta and bread is awesome. Happy Mylotting

That does sound good and ingenious, what a way to use left overs! I know Im always making up things and most of the time they are a hit! I cant see wasting foods as it is so expensive anymore to feed a family. Great idea and a plus when the family loves it too!

Yes that is how I made it, but you don't have to put that much cheese in it. I know of some people putting the cheese just on top. It ia all up to you on how you want to pur cheese on it or in it. But yeah it tasted really good. I am sure you both will like it no matter how you make it. Happy Mylotting
