Do you know what I can do to help her? I know there isnĀ“t any cure but right now, she only forgets things. She lives alone and we will get someone to be with her, a carekeeper of sorts. But as to the loving care, what do you suggest? Please help if you have been through this.

I am very sorry to hear that my dear friend. Your favorite aunt needs your understanding and help. I think that you will need to stay some important things again and again she is really forgetful. It is sensible of you to arrange a caretaker for her. Living alone with Alzheimer would be challenging so I a sure she will welcome the support. Good luck.

I'm very sorry , Marg. It is a very sad thing to happen to your aunt or anyone for that matter. My aunt & step-mother both had it. I really can't tell u anything good about it. Have alot of patience is the only thing i can tell you. hugs.

I'm so sorry to hear that! You or her family should talk to her doctor. In the past few years there have been several medicines that supposedly slow the progression on the disease. I've also read that people who keep their minds active slow it down too. I will pray for both of you during this difficult time.
