Reusing Bath towels

My roommates and myself have an ongoing battle about this one. they reuse their bath towels up to a week or more use and i think its disgusting and have begun to by my own towels so that i can have one for each day. I understand the fact that you are supposedly clean after bathing but i cant help but think of the fact that even washing you don't necessarily clean everything off and that it rubs off on the towel and sits there. I just cant comprehend reusing a towel...if you will excuse the term, after its been used to dry your hair, body and especially genital area...its just gross. what does everyone else think?

I re-use my towels for a week and then wash them. I hope that I have *ahem* cleaned those areas well enough in the shower for it not to be a problem on the towel (yech).

that's my point...hoping and reality are largely two different things. I just don't see this as a sanitary thing to do.

Gee, Palmerhusky, I never knew that getting clean is so difficult that you have to *hope* you've done it well enough. You might want to consider that your attitude is completely abnormal and irrational. Your mother was a germophobe and she seems to have done a good job of passing the phobia on to you. And most of the people in the world don't have the luxury of wasting the amount of soap and water it takes to throw towels in the laundry after just one use. Your room mates are more sensible than either you or your mother.

um, i think ur just a little overreacting, or very germophobic. becuz my whole family keeps the same towels for at least a week straight. I honestly get wat ur getting at but as long as its only me who's used it I'm fine. If someone else uses it, like occassionally my brother will, i think tats gross and i change it. its just tat most ppl dont have enough towels and don't use the wash daily so they can afford to switch up towels daily.

this is all things i was raised on. I never thought my mother was germophobic...just had good sense. much of my mothers example shaped me. We both believe its unsanitary to use bath towels over and over again without washing them first.
