What do you do with the random socks?

I have a pile of socks that have lost their mates. Normally, I just throw them out after a while when the other sock is surely not coming back. I guess I'm trying to get the "most" for my money these days, so I think instead of just throwing them away, maybe I can turn them into cleaning or dusting rags, and then toss out. Does anyone have any creative ideas or uses for your old unmatched socks that are without matches?

Any socks that come out of the dryer without a match go into a basket I have on top my dresser. Then every so often when the basket is kind of full i get it down and lay all the socks out and try to find matches. Most of the time I'm able to find the match to all of the socks. If I notice one has been in there awhile then I just throw it away.

If they are the short socks then they make good dust rags, just spray some Pledge on your sock covered hand and dust away. Also, for the guys, you can use them to put Armor All on your tires, they soak up the Armor All so you can really make those tires shine. I bought some long sock just for that occasion. Later.

I either use them as rags or give them to my sister. She purposely mixes her socks because she finds it entertaining when people look at her weird for wearing one rainbow sock and one with clouds or skulls on it.

Cleaning & dusting rags are a good idea as well as sock puppets for the littlies. I use mine for my dogs we roll them up & toss them around like a ball the dogs love them. :o) But after they finish they sit down & make a hugh mess by ripping them apart. Keeps them amuzed for awhile :o)

If you have kids you can make sock puppets out of them! Even if you dont have kids, it would be fun to make puppets with them, you could start your own YouTube puppet show, haha! But on a 'real' note, cleaning rags or dusting rags would be a better idea for getting the 'most' out of your money!
