My son likes chocolates very much but we are very afraid of giving these things frequently as it causes cold and cough. What do you suggest?

Hi there! In general, I think any food is not bad but too much of one kind could be harmful at some point. How old is your son? If he's just a baby don't give him sweets yet cause it can affect his teeth growth. It can also damage his tonsils and it can be infected. About the cough and cold thing, eating sweets don't cause cough and cold. But it's bad for a person who already has a cough and cold cause sweets increases the production of mucous. Just give your son chocolates moderately. Don't let him eat too much of anything. Hope that helps. Ciao!

Today i had been to the doctor that is to a child specialist for my grand dauighter. The same topic was raised. I asked whether we can give her chocolates. He immediately said if you want to visit me frequently you can give her some. I asked him why for which he said that chocolates are harmful for children and they tend to have throat infections. So just avoid chocolates. I felt very bad because the other day when went for shopping i had bought a bar of chocolate for her. But luckily i did not give it to her as she is having cold. It is better to avoid chocolate items when the child has cold. You can give him in lesser quantities and if you find that the frequent causes of cold is due to the chocolate intake then you have to stop it completely for the welfare of the child.
