Finally i made 100 post and got rated as 7. what was your first rating after posting 7. by the way how to increase the ratings. and how does this work??

Congratulations on getting a 7 rating after hitting 100 posts. Im sure you must be delighted. There has been some soind advice in this thread which i will be using myself to help me get around mylot.

Thank you!! Ive just reached the 100 mark and got a star of 8 so ive done well in my first week here which i am pleased about, i feel a little bit more settled here now :)

Well done to getting a rating on here! I think 7 is really good! My first rating when I got to 100 posts was 8, which I was quite happy with and it has slowly increased. My best tip would be to always be honest in your posts as well as polite and responsive.

That is great that you got the rating of 7 immediately after you reached 100 posts. When I reached the 100 posts, my rating was only 3. And at time only I realized what the rating stars are. That encouraged me and I kept posting, and slowly it increased on and on within few days. And now I am with the rating 9. It has been long long time that I have been with the rating 9 with read star. I had wished to reach the rating 10 with blue and and now too I wish to get there, but its getting more time than I had thought. Upto rating 9 was easier and then getting 10 is being difficult.
Well in order to increase the rating, just keep on posting, more and more, and more qualitative ones, so that the users don't hesitate to give the plus point, then it will increase faster. I hope you will reach atleast the red star, .i.e rating 9 withing 10 days...

thanks djauthemoneymaker and Acis bro!!!! Everyone here think that it's the plus and minus that matters. If people start giving you minus, then it starts decreasing. So, we also need to be in term with the mylot friends if we want to save our rank haha...
But no one clearly knows what are the real factors, that accounts for rating. Maybe the plus and minus are just a part of it, but not the complete factor. After all, many things in mylot system is mystic haha...

Hi, friend. I have seen people with posts above 500 and just having a rating of 5 or 6. So, 7 is a good initial rating to have and it means you are posting actively and sensibly at mylot. Keep it up.
In the beginning i was also working hard. I got a rating of 8 as i reached 100 posts.
But, now i am not that much active as my classes have commenced and that keeps my rating stuck at 9.

My friend, first of all, let me tell you that your rating does not affect your earnings but the reverse is true, that is, a good rating tells that you are earning higher.
In my short experiences here at mylot, i have noticed some points. To get good reputation/rating and to earn higher, you have to:
- Post a lot (But, that`s the most trivial thing and slightly affects your rating/earnings).
- Respond to others` discussions sensibly telling everything you know about the topic so that you get a comment from the person (gives high earning/rating) or you are rated positive (slightly increases your earnings/rating) or your answer is marked as the best (gives very high earnings/rating).
- Comment on others` responses to your discussions (gives good earnings/rating).
- Rate others and mark best responses (Slightly increases your earnings), But at least wait for a week before marking best response as it gives sufficient time for responding.
For example- I posted just 8-10 posts one day but got three best response marks. That day, i earned $ 0.69.
So, give good responses and comment on others to earn more and get good ratings.

Wow. Congratulations friend. I think that's a good job. I hope I could also get a rating above 5 when I reached my 100th post. By the way, how did you receive that rating? Did it just come out? Why do I see others without rating though they've reached 100 posts?

Well may be because they are very slow in mylot. May be they only post very rarely. And so they even don't deserve even the rating 1. But so far, I haven't noticed such thing. I think everyone automatically get the rating or star after they cross the 100 posts. So, good luck!!!! you are also on the way. I hope you start with the bigger star reco13...Happy mylotting...

i think when i first reached 100 i got a 8. but then it went down for some reason a few days after and i got a 7. then i worked really hard and got a 8 again and today i got a 9. so i have no clue how these ratings things work. they are very annoying and embarrassing because i seen someone who got 226 post the other day have a 8 just like me and i had about 600 and something post. i just don't like them very much just for that reason. well have a happy mylot day!
