Anyone remember the great children's poet and illustrator, Shel Silvestien? He was like my altime favorite to read with my kids!!! One of my favorite poems of his was Smart. I even used this one when teaching math...

Sorry, I never heard of this person as we only get to memorize chinese poems. Can you post the Smart poem here (if it's not too long), I'm just wondering what a piece of literature has to do with math. :)

Yeah, I will try to do that later today. It's a real cute poem about how a man gives his son a dollar and he trades it for 2 quarters.. and he thinks he's made a good deal since 2 is more than 1! and it goes on like that... I'll try to put it up later today.... it's a silly poem but hte kids always enjoyed it..and they got the point too!
