Mortfied Because I Hit the Send Button Instead of the Edit Button, Is There Help

I accidentally posted a new discussion before I was able to correct my errors, which were a few. I am so embarrassed to have submitted it that way, but I had no "undo" button or an "are you sure you want to submit" button. I guess I am so accustom to composing in microsoft works or word where there are editing tools and "undo" tabs that allows you, if you delete your work unintentionally, to retrieve it with any problems. I am just wondering if there are any editing tools of this sort on myLot? How do I edit my article after I have submitted?

Unfortunately, there's no way to go back and edit your discussions once you've posted them. I wish there were. There have been plenty of times where I've hit submit, and realized I misspelled something, or I forgot to input something. It just happens that way.

hi angelgirl dont be embarrassed as this has happened to a lot of us. we need an undo button so we can better edit our discussions. I dont know if there are any editing tools here, at least I have not seen any but I have been gone for 9 months. best you can do is use the preview button fresh, and read over your response, edit it then hit post, thats the best I can suggest, I know how you feel as I have been there and done that too. hatley here.

My sentiments exact, we need an "undo" button, or a warning button which will atleast give us a chance to decide if the decision to submit is truly what our intentions are. I did the preview, but I got in trouble as I attempted to go back to edit, I hit the post button instead. For now, I will slow down and focus more.

Unfortunately, myLot does not have such a button, that is except when you are private messaging someone. I guess they just figure it will only make the process take even longer for it's users. I have heard of some people asking another user to go and mark the content as abusive, or something of that extent so that the article will get deleted and they can start all over again. If you have a close friend here on myLot, you may consider PM them and asking them to do that for you.

There is no way other than to contact the admin deleted. You can create a new one.

I now know that there is not way to undo a post. I would love it, if in the future we are able to make corrections without having to contact administration which would save everybody alot of time. No rewriting the entire discussion which would probably not be the same as the first submission, and admin can get on with their administrating.

Sometimes I wish they would be a 'remove' button as well because there were a few times where I accidentally double posted my comments. So, don't worry. Everybody makes mistakes. The next time, just make a mental note on which button to push. :D

Ouch! Double posts huh? You are making me feel alot better:-D You are right, of course, it would be nice to have a remove button along with a few other editing devices. Maybe one day it will getting easier for us to retrieve and correct our work.
