It is very necessary for every person to have a goal in life, because it can gives him focus and direction..It could motivates him on how to live a life and a reason to strive to succeed. It would also serves as a driving force that will encourage him/her to work harder. on the other hand, if a person have no goal in life. A person could be compare to cab driver taking a route on unknown places..If you do not know where you are heading, you will likely moving aimlessly..What are your opinion? Why is it necessary for a person to have Goal in Life?

I think Goals are what makes life more worth living. May they be goals to make someone happy or to make oneself happy, those goals make us take action in our lives and not just wander aimlessly, just drifting by life and waiting for it to be over. Guess goals are what makes life interesting. We have a choice if we want to take control of our lives and make the best or at least something good out of it rather than render it useless and just a waste of resources. That's just what I think anyway.^_^

Hello Bjcyrix! Yes I afree with you that goals are what make life more worth living. Our goals give purpose to our efforts, and thus, give meaning to our lives. Our efforts and sacrifices have significance, because we know, that at the end, we have something to harvest, out from the hardwork we give to whatever we are doing. We want to work hard, or study more, or do better in all our endeavors because we have goals. We are determined to reaching that point of tasting the sweet prize of success. Our lives are planned, our tasks are organized, and that is because of our goals. happy mylotting!

Hi bjcyrix and chrissa..Goals really serve as pre cursor to achieve what we like to pursue in life, coupled with enough knowledge and wisdom..it greatly becomes effective with a lot of motivation..even, though we have the knowledge, but lacking in terms of motivation..we will likely to fail in terms of achievement..goal could be set like a scheduled of our plans in life and the degree and extent of anticipated desires which may lead as to over do working such as getting night sleep to finish deadlines or attending conferences, organization planning and even preparation or what we vision in the future will greatly affect the outcomes and the end rsults trace from our own efforts to succeed...

Wow without a goal I know I personally would wonder around blindly trying to do everything. I try and make a big yearly goal and then make quarterly goals, then monthly and daily and all the goals usually tie into each other to help me reach my yearly or life goal.

That is good, you have set a goals exclusively not only annually but at least everyday. This is what we called to plan ahead and whether we become successful or fail out of it. what important is we try to set a goals..In your cases having goals serves a guidelines to propel you toward achieving your desires in life whether a physical object as in having to buy your dream car, house or having a investment or likely an abstract ideas something which you could feel inside and you could be proud to show it to your loved ones and friends..such as being promoted on your jobs or having good children, responsible and caring husband is a goal itself..

I truly believe without goals we won't reach our full potential. We need to set goals that maybe just a little outside our reach. This will cause us to stretch. which in turn will cause us to grow to be a better and more rounded person. My Goal for this year is to become financially independent. With the way the economy is going. I don't want to have to depend on a company to create a job or work for me. I want to be able to do that for myself and eventually for others. But this year I will work on establishing myself. Maybe my goal for next year will be to mentor a few people to come along with me

I agree with you, If you have no goal, you just live from one day to the next. You have no plan, no adjective to reach. To succeed we must have a plan and set goals to reach, til that plan is complete. Have a blessed day.

and once the plan is complete. Set goals for a new plan to take you to the next level. Goals are just stepping stones in this life to get us to places and levels

Having goal is like living a dull life..but, as a matter of fact keeping to live or staying alive is a goal..itself..that is why some person think they could live without a goal which is true..without really knowing that continue to live even without inspiration or will power and no interest is a goal itself..do you believe so? Living is enough reason..it is a goal...

I do not think just living is a goal, unless that is all your able to do. I speaking like maybe you are sick and all you can do is look forward to another day. I guess that would be a goal. Have a blessed day.

Its true Goal is something that has helped us to progress in a certain direction to achieve something. But sometimes, we are not enough focussed. Again there are situations, when we feel that despite having a goal we are moving away from it. But we should have some clear picture about what we want to achieve in life.

Thats well said subha.. Without a clear picture about what we are achieving in life is mere a trash... Nice response indeed... Cheers....

I believe almost of the people have goals its only differ to the degree of motivation. Some are very serious in pursuing their goals that they becomes successful while other despite their try out it ended being disappointed with the outcomes..But, all of this is part and parcel and variety is the spice of life..meaning success and failures almost have their own shares and pain to tell about heir experiences..Having a clear pictures of your goals is effective ways to keep it in your brain thinking and working out on it..

Driving is compare to keep moving without a define set of goals..i think to continue living is a goal..goal stop when a person die..and so is her desires..different opinions from different people contributes to a different story which makes this discussion more interesting..

Yes it would be necessary as, if you have a goal, you have something to be looking forward to. This would serve as your inspiration to go ahead, no matter what hindrances come along the way. Your intention to achieve it would gain you the courage and hope to move on and never give up. Thus, success would never be out of your mind.

having goal is the ultimate reason for working hard and saving a lot of earning to spend with the object of your desires and sometimes you have to set a target and a deadlines to achieve it. This is the way you test yourself own strength and weakness.. if you becomes successful in your pursuits it only mean you are on the right track..however, if you fail in some of your goals..it does not mean that it is the end..it is only mean a beginning for a more challenging journey to come..you need to be ready to face it and the important you try and failures becomes an inspiration to work even harder to achieve what goal we fail the next time we try..

It is necessary for a person to have goal in life, so that they know for what reason they're working hard all these times. It is kinda useless if you're working hard, but you have no goal in life. Just like you're kicking a ball on a field, but you're clueless where do you want to shoot the ball...
• Philippines

Yeah..Having goals is comparison to setting to test your limit and your chances if you will be successful or fail in your pursuits in life..it serves as effective precursor for development of a personal growth and interaction toward your desires and the target of your goals..This is also the time where we could know our strength and weakness..thus..having goals is a preparation to make a clear plan of our long term and short term pursuits..

Hey, Well if you would have no goals in life, then you will have no motivation. That is what always happens to me, I have no goals in life and that is what caused me to have no motivation at school. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Yeah that is true. being motivated is the driving force which ignites any person to achieve one's goal without being pressured. it is a free will and even if their is an absence of opportunity, one;s must learn to uses his own skills and talents to build his own niche in order to be successful in life.

goal serves as the ultimate guidance which would inspire a person to work hard and see his vision for the future turning into reality which will greatly benefit him for his lifetime not just for the meantime....This would give him a lot of access to luxurious life, to live to be an influential person and boost a person competence..

In my opinion, a goal in life helps a person to hold on to something. It helps a person to have a direction in her/his life. In some ways, it helps one to strive hard and learn to accept the failure and rise up again in achieving her/his goal. It helps one to never give up and think positive.

yeah, goals really should serves as an inspiration and it is best for a person to sets and identify first his top priorities starting from higher to bottom in which he have over all control and estimate with a high chance of success with less failures...

If you don't know where you're going, how do you know when you're there? This is actually a question asked in one of the goal-setting seminars I attended. And indeed, if you don't have an idea of what you want to achieve, you will never know if you're already there, or if you're far behind. And you will never have the opportunity to seize the glory of being there, because you never have any idea of what IT is in the first place. Goals are a focal point that give us reasons to live, a purpose to keep going. they make life more meaningful. It is a destination that is sweet when attained. People who don't have goals and just leave their lives to luck and destiny will most likely find life to be empty and meaningless. It's like going around in circles with no end in sight.

This also mean that having goals does not depend on the performance which a person do to achieve it but also on the outcomes which could test his levels of strength and weaknesses..It is also important to a person to prepare set of realistic goals not just a dream but a vision which in the future will be see as possible not the impossible..and it could be measured by length of time and attainable when the target goals is successfully meet..and if their is a failure to meet the exact goals..it should not be seen as a barriers but instead as sparks which will help a person to fix it and try again to achieve it almost flawlessly...

To have a goal which effectively guides us in achieving what we desire in life. Their is a need identify each goals, set a deadlines or duration of time or years where our target goals will likely achieve, set priorities which will make a person know where the top and the least priorities among his goals. Then, it is important to start slowly but surely in achieving each goals that surely boost performance with a good end results...Finally, a person who have no goals live only for the moment and not for his future...

Well if you don't have a goal, you don't get anywhere in life. You just sit there and do nothing. And at first maybe it'll sound fun to just bum around and do nothing. But after a while when you wake up one day and realize you're at the same place for the last few years and you've done nothing your whole life. It makes you waste your life away. Everyone should have a goal, at least smaller ones because if you don't you just have wasted time, and you never realize what it is you like to do and when you finally do, you regret all that time you wasted doing nothing. It's basically like just sleeping your whole life, you never do anything. You need to have a goal to get out there and just live ur life. Apart from that, it's SMART to have a goal in life. Whether picking a certain college, or deciding your career place, or preparing what you'll do after retirement or with your house payments, its smart to have a plan, and have a direction in which to do it, not be completely lost with all the various options.

Goal is the driving force which keep a person to work hard to achieve his desires without depending for other people to constantly remind him to work on it..the inner motivation should come to the person itself, for their are many reasons that make his life valuable and do his plan to proceed to work hard with a purposes. Such, a need to set a goals within a duration of time to attain what we desire within the range of years specify like the changes in your current situation and what you becomes of you in the future..depends on what you do today...This is also mean having the ability to set up priorities with a clear vision of what we like to see to happen...especially about the ideal future..organizing and setting of enough resources to build confidence to a greater degree..Having no goal life would be meaningless and lack of purposes is tantamount to the lack of ambition and decisiveness...

I believe all human beings need to be creative and one of life's instincts is to leave our mark on this planet to show that we have lived. Most countries encourage ambition as having goals is part of the creative instinct and it helps to keep the world economy turning. That's how I see it anyway. - Derek

This also mean the ability to live a full life is a legacy itself that will be able to give to future children..and when the times comes that a person get old he could be proud to remember the past and tell them that he/she live a life with a purposes and help to share the pain and glory of his/her achievements..Ambition lead to encouragement to excel in whatever career we choose which entails a lot of motivation...

I really admire this topic. Because as you said, it really makes a person move. I really have goals. Not goal. Everyone cannot succeed in a single goal. If a man doesn't have any goal in his life he can better die instead of living. Goals really makes a person a man or a woman in the life. It makes the person active to acheive something to get his/her name in flying colors in something he/she does. But the goal now here is to get $2 dollars a day in Mylot ....... Soon I'll reach it and set another goal. Nice discussion..
• Philippines

well that is a plural form..having a lot of goals is indeed a mark of a person who know what he want, what he desires and what he need to fulfill in life..I am happy for you..just like everybody else..the goal why they are here in Mylot is to earn and not only that also to learn from discussion...

yeah i agree with you..Goal is an achievement a measurement of our success..and maybe in some aspects..failures..we see failures not as a disappointing results..but it will serve as a fire which will ignite a person to work and try hard to obtain his object of desires..so that you may enjoy the fruit of your labor..
