Hi... i was wondering if you guys have encountered the same problem... my monitor doesn't turn on as soon as I turn on my unit. The monitor LED just blinks continuously amber and I hear a clicking sound. I remove the power plug of the monitor and put it back after a few seconds and then the monitor would finally turn on. I was wondering if it is my monitor that's screwing up or if there's something wrong with my unit. By the way, as soon as the monitor turns on, I'm already on my desktop so that means my unit boots up normally. my monitor is only a CRT LG monitor bought about 2 years ago. my specs are: emaxx780gpro+ mobo amd phenomx3 8450 2.1ghz ddr2 pc800 2gb memory x2 seagate sata 7200 500gb hdd

I have high regards with CRT monitors and 2 years is such a very young age. If its colors, brilliance and sharpness are still ok, I think your problem is related to your monitor's power circuit. May be its just the monitors power cable, check for loose contacts or sign of wear and tear, else have a service guy check it or add another point(s) for your reasons to get the wide LCD monitors.) Good to see you again my friend, its been a long time

Hi, I think the reply you have given is also one of the possible reasons. I am also using LG CRT monitor from last 6 years. I had few problems like this, when I shifted the PC to another room. Also this happens if the computer is placed in a cool place. So check with your nearest dealer, get it corrected. For any technocal problems please post in my discussion. Regards, Reyas... Happy Mylotting..

@Ferdz!!! Hi there friend! Yeah it's been a loooooong loooong time. umm... colors, brilliance, and sharpness all good... 1st case: monitor power cable was connected to my avr. and then this instance happened... i unplugged it and plugged it again, monitor turned on. 2nd case: monitor power cable was connected this time to my unit's power supply. different power cable... but still this instance happened. Ugh... i've had my eyes on a new LCD monitor, but i still don't have enough money to get one. Hehe. @reyasmi: i think that might be the case, since it's been cold here lately. it's always raining hard, this instance only happened recently so it really might be related. the monitor's properties are all good, just that everytime i start my pc i have to unplug and plug the power cable of the monitor. thanks.

Do you leave your monitor switch ON when you turn off your AVR, try to switch it off too. Just maybe the AVR line need to be normalized for a while after you switch on your CPU. Try also to plug your monitor directly to your AC outlet and see if you still need to do the un/re-plug thing, if not then the AVR might be the culprit or over loaded.
