The Phone Company Ruined My Discussion!!!

That's right......you read that correctly......the DAM phone company has taken my well thought out discussion and crushed it like an aluminum can in a homeless bum's shopping cart. Let me give you a little back story. A couple of months ago some crooked fly by night, dirty dog company tried to charge me for services I never ordered in a 3rd party bill on my phone bill. I had dealings with this company before several months ago. They try to stick you for a bill and hope you don't notice the extra charge on your phone bill. So I did exactly what I did the first time I noticed these crooks on my phone bill... I called the company and told them "no way in Hell was I paying for something I never asked for" then I called the phone company and asked them to do a chargeback to the company and informed them that I would be deducting that amount($8.56) before I sent my bill payment. Well, when my personal accountant, missybear, paid the bill, she mis-calculated the deduction and actually sent the phone company .20 CENTS less than she should have. So now when we get our new bill there's a $5.00 late fee and a notice to pay the .20 cents IMMEDIATELY!!! $5.00 for .20 CENTS?!?!? Now, I'm no mathematician, but that's like a basquillion percent fee on .20 cents. SO NOW I'M PISSED!!! and I think where can I rant about this and get it off my chest??? Of course.............MYLOT!!! So I worked out what I wanted to say, and figured out the sentence structures in my head.........I even came up with some catchy titles........ "TELEPHONE MAFIA!!!" "PHONE PIRATES!!!" .................WAIT.............maybe there's a $5.00 late fee because the bill was actually late..................I better call them and make sure before I smear them on myLot................."por espanial, numbero dos...................finally, customer support.................IT IS because of the .20 cents................."TELECOMMUNICATION NAZIS!!!..................what? Oh..............The guy said he thought it was ridiculous too and removed the late fee. So, you see........nothing to complain about..........no discussion. Sorry for wasting your time, but there is no discussion here. Sorry..........you can go about your business.............nothing to see here. Do you ever think of a good discussion only to realize you got nothing???

All the time! I write it anyway! even if it makes little to no sense! on counta I'm special like that! people respond mostly outta pity cause I can't write.. I still get paid! and I have money for more skittles! want one?!

I was sitting here staring at the screen and waiting! it finally dawned on me to push the button called "refresh" cause I was thirsty.. no beverage came out... but I found you! thanks for answering my question!.. wait! I didn't ask a question... did I? oh well..... I will wait over here till you come back to talk some more to me! *stares at screen*

*takes off show and counts up* I don't get 80.00 at all! I have 126.12! but if I carry my one and divide it by the number of parked cars I've hit and multiply it by the number of times I beat up my sister and times that by the number of flies I killed on the front porch it comes to 912.98

carry that by the number of times I've written show instead of shoe and times that by 9 ... just cause I like that number.... it comes to a total of 1023.98

They're alright, but I don't like their math. It looks something like this: Phone package deal $30 + Internet $25 = $80.00??? They stick you with all those fees and taxes and crap. Don't even get me started on the Cable Company!

That insanity about being charged a $5.00 late fee for 20-cents actually sounds as lame-brained as a bank charging an overdraft fee of $35.00 if the overdraft is only 50-cents--THEY STILL CHARGE IT Well one time I came across this god-awful website that was all pro dog fights, the whole thing was sickening and the person boasted what a wonderful business dog fighting is Here's the website http://puppyprofits.com/ Naturally I got all riled up and even did a fiery discussion about it...I went on a rampage Uh....then I happened to find later on...the whole thing was a spoof site http://aspcacommunity.ning.com/group/helpinganimals/forum/topic/show?id=658300%3ATopic%3A332753 Unfortunately with all the protesting ASPCA, etc...for some sick reason the website is still up So I had to do another discussion about my mistake

I have thought of some good discussions that after letting it percolate for a few days I've decided that I would be better off letting them stay unpublished. On a more serious note, often calling and talking to someone will make all the difference in an unjust charge. It can be aggravating getting through their automated system then past the front line operators who have no authority to do anything except give you double talk, but when you finally get to someone with the power to make changes you usually get rewarded for your tenacity.

Yeah, I was just so pissed that I had already formulated a colorful discussion about the "Phone Nazis".........shhhhh.........can you keep a secret?..........it was actually this same discussion without the happy ending. But I already knew I had to call them and at least give it a shot. I figured I had a better than 50% chance of them waiving the late fee. I'm just glad I talked to a customer service rep that also saw how ridiculous it was to charge someone $5.00 for being .20 cents short.

I started receiving charges on my phone like that as well..but my phone company made me pay them..they were over $25.00 in charges for two months..they said they would credit it back to my account within 60 days..so I paid it..now last charges were $13.00..paid it..they said they was nothing they could so with the charges but keep crediting me the money back within 60 days..my thing is..if they are going to credit it.why not right then and there so I don't have to wait? Heck, I don't even have long distance and these charges are long distance charges..glad things worked out for ya...

Thank goodness there's no discussion here because I'm not really in the mood for responding at the moment. I guess I could crap on with some words just for the sake of it, but that would completely go against my non-responsive feelings at this given point in time. I guess I'd better just shut up and not type anything at all then.

hi the phone company and the IRs, when I retired from the library I got my retirement funds in one lump sum after the IrS had taken out its big chunk. so i was done with them , not exactly. there was one last partial payment for I think it was a week or two but out of this tiny last payment of some forty dollars or less, there was a deduction from the irs for one whole dollar, wow.they couldnt let me have that last money without taking a bite out of it.

I did customer service for Ma Bell and it was rediculous. That ind of crap happened constantly. I did about 50 adjustments a day because someone else screwed up. Amd you're right about those dirty 3rd party carrier charges. I had to deal with that constantly as well. Sadly, I couldn't just remove the charge, I had to put it in "pending" status until it was solved with the other company. And that's not a quick process...it usually took 2-3 months!

and now you know this is how you end up when you start Mylot discussions while waiting on hold with the phone company! I was on the phone with them yesterday for over an hour! I could have started a lot of discussions during that time. But I did get over $150 credit on my bill, so I guess it was worth it?? But most of that was because they never said it was nearly $100 for the modem that they sent us plus our phone has been scratchy sounding since we got it 6 weeks ago & the internet has never worked right! But I had to waste my time calling them repeatedly to get it fixed. They are sending out a technician on tuesday. I set it up when I'll be at work so hubby can deal with them! But I do hate the fees that are larger than the amount you owe. I have an even better one for you. We over drew our checking account.........well, I didn't of course, it was my husband's fault!! It was overdrawn by something like 39 cents & they charged us a $36 over draft fee! My husband raised holy hell until they took that fee off.

Lol, that's awesome... now lets hope whoever I have to talk to about my hydro bill is that understanding. Just got a notice in the mail saying I didn't pay my bill and I have to pay the late fee or they'll cut off my service... and I never got the bill I supposedly didn't pay. Called customer service, and they said "well, take that up with the post office"... because I'm sure the government-owned post office will pay my hydro bill for me, what with their non-liability agreement. Gonna go yell at the receptionist for a while and see if anything comes of it.
