Scour Announces New Reward System. Good News Or Bad News?

Canada

I just logged onto Scour and discovered that at the end of the month, instead of awarding gift cards for number of points, every search will mean an entry into a contest to win a daily $25 giveaway. Do you think this is good news or bad news? I think it's not as good as it was before, because only some people will get rewarded, instead of everyone getting rewarded. What do you think?

I don't Scour I My Points for my searches. I want the cash or gift card. Drawings and sweepstakes - I never win so I stopped participating. LIke you said, why should one person be rewarded for all of our work? Greenfield surveys is like this too... take a 20 minutes (often longer) survey and you'll be entered into the sweepstakes. I started out doing it, but since after a few months and MANY surveys later.. I hadn't won a sweepstakes, I was obviously wasting my time. Now I don't do the surveys with a sweeps as a reward. This day and age...we all work to hard and spend to much of our time working so hard.. that we want what is ours, what we worked hard for ... not just a chance at getting it.

That's the same reason i stopped doing their surveys! i like the ones that actually reward you for your time not "maybe you can win a reward!"

i am not apart of this site, but i would say this new reward system is not a great idea. i rather know that every single i am going to get something for my efforts

That doesn't sound totally fair to me. I usally might get one or two points a day. I use scour a lot but it doesn't add up that fast.

You know what, I just posted a discussion on the same thing! Maybe I should have gone through my e-mails first lol. Anyway, I flat out hate this new turn of events. All the chances to win go to the people with no lives that spend all day on Scour, with a thousand referrals that do the same. I am still going to use the site, just because I like the search results themselves. Unfortunately it would take too much virtual memory to get all those results at one time otherwise, but I'm not even thinking about payout anymore, even after my year of hard work.

To me, it seems like bad news because like you said, not everyone will get rewarded for their efforts...contests are always pot luck so these days, I try to steer clear of them as there's no guarentee of getting anything.

I just read that, too. I don't like that at all. I do a few searches everyday and I like that I get points for each search that will eventually amount to something. The only time I like taking chances with money is when I'm playing Blackjack, other than that, I like to know that I'm getting a guaranteed reward for my efforts, especially if it has always been that way. I think I'm going to try another incentive search engine and leave Scour alone.

that is really a bad news.. you can try and try and try to search but will never get anything in return.. they cna fake the winners to be themselves!!

I think its bad news - I was a member of Swagbucks which does basically the same thing and i never "won" enough to be worth me using it or even cashing out. I gave up and switched to scour. I earned slowly but now I actually have deleted my account because it doesnt seem very fair that in the end a few lucky people will be rewarded and the rest will be SOL.
