Mylot has been very helpful for my improvement in English. Not just me, but mylot has helped many people improve their writing skills. However,I have seen many people using wrong spelling and pretty awful grammar while posting in MYLOT.I also make mistakes sometimes.I think this hampers the earning Do you have any idea whether this hampers earning or not?? If yes, then how much??

i guess so long as the majority of people can understand what the other person has posted I guess that it really doesn't matter how bad a person's grammer or spelling is. i culd spel lik this and ppl wood still no wut i was talkin bout or sayin. I mean my native lang. is english and i was told that it's the hardest lang to learn because there are so many different meanings for some of the shortest words. Such as there, their, and they're lol. so don't take to heart what other people have to say, ,doesn't matter how bad your english is just so long as you're trying that is all that matters, English is a hard 2nd lang to learn.

I try to Avoid Grammatical Errors - But The Speed Gets Better Of Me ..
Even I Have Observed In Others As Also With Myself Gramatical Errors Happening On Posts .. I Try Not to Commit Gramatical Errors .. But The Speed To Respond Usually gets the Better Of Me .. These Errors Do take Place Without My Knowledge ..

well, sagnik, yes you are right about one thing, people do tend to make spelling mistakes while posting anything on mylot, because nobody is perfect, and we all make mistakes especially while typing, as far as the payout is concerned, i dont think that spelling mistakes affect your income, because if you can read what the person has typed, surely the editors and staff of mylot can, therefore, there is no cahnge in the payment, and you should also always remeber taht we are not allowed to discuss earnings and income on mylot, its a rule, go figure, its typed there neatly in the "mylot guidelines" if you want to go see it, Happy-Mylotting

I dont think having wrong grammar and wrong spelling would affect your earning here at the lot. Mylot gives everyone the chance to earn and gain friends world wide. And since a lot of international members are part of mylot they don't expect that everyone would actually be fluent in English... that's why mylot has been a number one site to people who are earning online... it would help you though to respond to all the comments you get from your discussions...just a helpful tip my friend... see you and have a nice weekend.

I don't have any ideas if it affects our earnings but i guess grammar and spelling are really a big deal for mylotters. First and foremost, Mylotters came from different parts of the world. We should communicate using English words ONLY. And for us to communicate and express ourselves very well, we should use correct grammar and spelling to be able to understood by others. I am not really good in English that's why i can't converse very well with people here. In addition, i also grew up with a different kind of humor or should i say, culture, which makes it even harder to connect with others. But i hope i could do i someday and indeed, mylot improves our English. So happy mylotting~

I would venture to guess that myLot doesn't put much emphasis on spelling and grammar when deciding how much money to pay an individual. As long as the post can be understood, that is all that matters. For example, you didn't put a period after the word earning in your post. (" I think this hampers the earning"). I highly doubt mylot would penalize you for that.

Yeah...I missed the stop(.).I do mistakes like this quite often.I am learning actual typing(meaning not watching your keyboard while typing)with the help of a software.I am improving but still make those occasional mistakes.I typing speed has improved though.Thnaks to mylot and that software.

Grammer and spelling are importnt but the content is more important.A great discussion with a few grammar and spelling mistakes is always better than a perfectly written boring one. Moreover however careful you are the typos do happen every now and then which make our discussion look funny.

Morning sagnik42, well, I am not a english speaking person, I am swedish. I am now fulltime working so not much of practice english, in the profession of mine we talk swedish, and also read swedish. It was the main reason why I joined mylot, to be able to practise english litterly, so I do not forget what I once learned the hard way. Yes, I think writing with god grammar and spelling is important, since it can be missunderstood and one time I really got a nasty reply saying me please use the right spell when writing. I normaly to spell right, but my typing speed is also so high that it sometimes get in a wrong letter... I love writing so mylot is a great place to be in.

i don't think it affects earnings. and as long as you can be understood i don't think it will affect how other users see you, especially if it isn't your first language. jb

i dont think so grammar and spelling mistake sparks trouble unless it properly communicates..sometimes people make long sentences without proper commas.in that case the statement can perceived in multiple ways. so unless properly communicated,i dont find any hassle with language skills.but as evry one said its better have a proper language as it commands some respect..
