On and average normally a Hollywood Movies Length is One and half hour.... but some movies exceed this average time and extend it to 3 hours.... but some of these movies with more than average movie length are doing very well in the business ... for example Tranformers , Lord of the Rings series...... what do you u think should be the average length of movies... Do the length affect its Popularity... ???

Hey, Well I mostly like movies that are 2 hours, if they are longer it is really quite boring unless the movie has really good action, and if it is too short, it just isn't good because it ends too quickly. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Hi miks_redhot, I find that most of my favourite films are really quite long, which is good as if I'm really enjoying one I don't want it to end. Some of my favourites are definitely longer than average and include 'Once Upon a Time in America', 'Ryan's Daughter', 'Doctor Zhivago' and 'Gone with the Wind'. The latter two were based on long books and would not have benefited by being cut to a more average time frame.

Movies should be more than 1 hours depending on the story. Some movies are made to last more than 3 hours but the moviegoers never get bored. because the film makers and scriptwriters made storied based on the novels and true stories from the accounts of real people who undergo the experience. The movies no matter how long will still be becomes box-office in theater, because the moviegoers like the story and cinematography. The character and the stars who portray the roles are compose of brilliant and excellent actors and actresses who make the movies more exciting and unforgettable..

Hi Miks. I think the time a movie runs should depend on the story being portrayed. Gone with the Wind, for instance, is long, but how could that great story be told in a shorter time limit? Whatever length of time it takes to tell/show it thoroughly is the right length of time for a movie to run. Most are good, though, when kept between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Karen

I feel that as long as a movie can keep you interested and on the edge of your seat.. how long it is really doesn't matter too much except half the movies that are excessively long FAIL to do so and this makes it even worse than a normal or short lengthed good movie. I tend to like movies that aren't longer than 2, 2hours15 mins tops because I feel like that's enough time to develop a plot and resolve it.. while saving all the crap that would make it extra long or excess information that would put one to sleep or confuse the audience if anything. There are a few good long movies, such as lord of the rings.. ( i loved that series ) but like transformers 2 recently was all about megan foxx running in slow mo with explosions behind her. again and AGAIN for 3 hours straight i just get so tired of watching it..
