Parents partial to a kid?

Right from the teenage, i can remember that i always n often had an ambivalent relation with my mother. i used to be stubborn n used to get offended for the drop of a hair. now i live almost 2500km away from her n i visit her once in a year, but we still have our tiffs. have u had any such experience like that? I have even felt that my mother is partial to my elder sister.
can parents be partial to one of their children for some reason? have any of you experienced any such thing?

Hi malpoa, well I just have the one child and that's quite enough but I must admit I'm rather partial to him. I love him dearly but he can also be most annoying but the fact that we are now over half way through the thirteen weeks school holidays and haven't killed each other yet shows we must have a pretty good relatinship.

I don't know how parents can be partial. I think they might be partial in their mind, but they should not show it out. If they express it, it will be painful for the other child and he or she will feel for it. I don't think my parents are partial. I am not a parent, so I don't know more about it. I have seen teachers who are partial.

I was always told tht for a parents , all the children are alike but tht isnt true. no one can see n love all the children with the same intensity. if parents can not show their partiality, there is nothing better than that. coz i have felt it all my life n i feel how bad it is.

Hi malpoa,
I am experienceing the same kind of problems from long long ago. I was grown up in a joint family. My brother was the first child in the family . And so he have some privileges than me. I am considered less while compared to me even now. It is life , we cannot change people in these matters. These people may not be impartial , but not me. I am impartial and I would not do the same mistake by myself. And my mother, father are partial to him and giving him extra preferences than me. I dont want them to push to care for me more, if I did so it would not a natural caring. So I left everything as it is and moving on.
