I was wondering how many mothers out there are going to vaccinate their kids for the H1N1 flu. Did anyone read about the vaccine in 1976??? Would you vaccinate yourself?????

No i will not be getting the H1N1 flu shot. I was around in 1976 and i remember all the people getting sick from it, and some of them dieing from it. I try to keep my immunity system healthy, and it has been a long time since i'v had a cold or the flu.

I think that they are making it sound worst than it is. I posted a discussion from a Health newsletter that i read all the time. about swine flu. You can go here to read it, http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1993326.aspx

I have always gotten my two daughters all of their vaccinations. I havent been too keen on the flu shots, but around here they seem to work better than not, but everyone makes a point by saying the more u get the shot the less immune u get to it later on, which is not good at all! It is better for the body to develop an immunity to it, instead of constantly having vacc's and weakening your immune system. I gave my elder daughter a flu shot last year but I am not too sure about this year. I am kinda paranoid about the swine flu so I dont know! I would definitely have to read up on it first.

I wasn't around for the vaccine in 1976, but I can completely say that my children and myself won't be getting the H1N1 flu vaccine. The vaccine is just too new, and I don't trust anything that hasn't been tested for a long period of time. I understand that there is a chance that they and myself will get sick without having the vaccine, but I don't trust anything that can't be proven 100 percent that it isn't going to hurt the people that I love. Another vaccine that I am not sure about is the HPV vaccine. They are in the process of trying to make that mandatory for girls going into middle school, but I still don't trust it so if it happens by the time my daughter goes into middle school I will try everything in my power to have that requirement waived.

That is bull****!!!! How can they make that shot mandatory, it's not like girls are gonna go around spreading cervical cancer!!! What has our world come to!!! Pretty soon we are going to be told when it's our time to die!!

No I don't believe in the shot. I believe your body has to get rid of it's own virus. I was around for that era and I too remember. But seriously NO I don't believe in it. But that's my opinion.
