As far as I know, there is not any difference between the terms workshop and seminar. I've heard things referred to in both ways and that is just something that I accept as being something that is interchangable. Now, I would personally use the term seminar for something that is more low-key and use the term workshop for something where you are going to be gaining more knowledge and skills.
