The concept of atheism. What is it really? Is it just an idea or is a religion? Is it just not believing in G-d or is it something else entirely? The main thing I am focusing on here is can you be a christian atheist or a jewish atheist? Some say that atheism is its own religion but some say you atheism is a belief. Now let's say it is a belief can you couple a belief with your own religion and be a christian atheist? Now what is atheism? The overview of it is you do not believe in any G-d but does that mean you can't believe in your own religion? Now this last question. Some people say to me that being an atheist is being against religion so you hate christians or jews or and other religion. If anyone disagrees with that statement please let me know.

Atheism is a philosophy, like theism. Theists believe there is an active god, and atheists are without believe in any god. You can follow a religion without necessarily believing in the god of that religion. Technically you could be an atheist Christian, but it's very unlikely. All you would need to do is follow the teachings of Jesus, I would suppose. Atheists can be religious, they just don't believe in gods. You don't have to hate gods or religion to be an atheist, either. I certainly don't.
