My husband and i along with my @ boys recently moved from a 2 bedroom apt complex to a 1 family house. Everything was great at first, we moved in on the rent to own basis, the landlord told us we have total use of the home, and that he would clean out this big gigantic backyard. That was October, it is now the middle of August, we have yet to use or enjoy our back yard that has big boulders, tree length grass, garbage from thier previous crops, tools. etc. I'm so upset about this, should we hire someone to do a clean out and landscape and then take it out of the rent? please give your opinions.

Personally if I were you, I would find out what your rights and responsibilities are in that area, as something like this might not be included. I would even make a call to the people who own the house and see if there is some way they can do some of it before you even have to talk to someone else. But depending on the agreement, etc. this could be an interesting thing that is why it is best to check out your rights, etc. for that area and then go from there. Wishing you the Best.

hi brwnjj hatley here.yes do that, hire someone get it all cleaned up then present the landlord with the bill aNd ask him to reduce the rent by that much, that should really fix his clock since he said he would clean out the backyard and has not done so after your months of waiting. i bet he will reduce your rent.
