I have and not just once, but quite a few times. The first time it happened was when I was travelling by trian with my family. A begger limping badly, came up and asked for some alms, and I gave him some money, only to see him run away with his 'earnings.' The next one was more amusing. It again happened in a train. I had removed my expensive shoe to sleep. I noticed this stranger who came and sat right opposite to me. He was looking down at my shoes, and though I had a funny feeling that he was going to rob me of my shoes, i closed my eyes on purpose to see if he would steal it. Would you believe it! He took offf with my new pair of shoes before I could even open my eyes.

Some years ago a man came to our door. He had a piece of paper in his hand, and he gave it to me so that I could read it. It was a long and sad story about the man and his life, and I read in the story that the man had a disability and that he was mute and deaf. He wrote about his problems and he mentioned how hard it was to get money for food. The last sentence on the paper was: "Please give me some money" and I decided to give him some coins. It was a Friday night, and when he left I wished him a nice weekend, and the "mute" man answered: "Same to you". He turned bright red and ran down the stairs really fast

Cheats are becoming more and more diplomatic these days, I guess. He had the courtesy to wish you well so that he could fleece you another time.

Tricks and being trick is part of our everyday living. I personally consider it as pitfalls that I should intelligently avoid. It do make us wiser and more careful in going with our daily lives.

No matter how intelligent you are, crooks are smarter. Otherwise, you wouldn't be cheated.

When I had my first work a friend of my relatives came to me to offer a mobile phone so cheap. She was nice and beautiful and that you couldn't imagine she had some bad plans for us. She collected cash from 3 of my friends including me. When I handed her the money, she said "thank you". She promised to deliver the mobile phones within that week however many weeks came, she's already gone. We called her work place but the person who answered the phone told us that she already quit. That experience taught me that looks can really deceive a person.

Oh and didn't you feel like such a fool afterwards! I've been conned a few times. But the thing is, i would rather feel like an idiot for falling for a con, than know that there was someone i could have helped, and didn't. So to hell with it, if they want to be liars, that's on them! *puts a five in the cup*

Absolutely. I felt like a donkey. Only thing I didn't do was run on 4 legs.

I have been tricked in life. People have played me for everything and nothing in the past. The shoe's story is a shocker! I can't say I have had to walk home from the train without shoe's with me, i feel for you there mate! I have learned that even the closest and kindest of people can trick you in life, however the only trick themselves if they believe it is helping them out. Learn from what has happened and don't give them the chance to trick you again mate!

It was an experiencing walking home in the middle of the night without my shoes on. I'm more careful with my shoes these days while travelling, but the problem is, what next?

I have been tricked before. Once I was invited to lunch by a female co-worker who I thought was just being nice because I was new and we had lunch at the same time. As we were eating over lunch, she let it be known that the man I was dating was not quite her ex yet and that he had hurt her so badly. It was pretty awful and she caused me quite a few problems on the job with her lies. Security even had to be called once and they sided with her because I was the new person and security told me that this lady would not act like that.
