Google: 2003 bush chirac gog magog My favorite link is http://sedulia.blogs.com/sedulias_translations/2009/05/bush-chirac-gog-and-magog.html The original article from September 2007 is http://www2.unil.ch/unicom/allez_savoir/as39/index.html under the subheading "Politique" What brought this to my attention was an article in Free Inquiry magazine (August/September 2009 Vol. 29 No. 5). I quote: Now, out of office, Chirac recounts that the American leader appealed to their "common faith" (Christianity) and told him, "Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East ... The biblical prophecies are being fulfilled ... This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people's enemies before a New Age begins." Poor Chirac had to consult with the University of Lausanne theology department to understand what he was talking about. It refers to a few bible verses in Genesis, Ezekiel, and Revelation. I will let a Millennial Christian explain it, since I am not qualified. I sure don't think we should have spent a trillion or two dollars and thousands of American lives (and who knows how many Iraqi lives) because of the biblical beliefs of a leader elected as president of the United States.
