Marking Best response- how much to wait?

After starting a discussion how long should we wait to mark a best response? What is your method? Do you wait till a certain number of responses are posted? if so then what is the magic number for you? or do you wait for a certain period and then among the responsesthat you get in that period you mark one best.How many days/hours do u wait before you mark a best response. DO you mark a best response for all the discussions you start? Do you think Mylot should allow marking multiple best responses in a discussion?

You can choose one immediately, or just wait until you read an interesting and very informative response to your discussion. It's really up to you to decide that, whether you think a response is good and deserves rewards.

For my first discussion I gave the best response tag to the very first discussion that I got. Later I learned the importance of this. Though, currently I am not starting any discussion, but, for all my discussion, I waited for two weeks then gave the pencil to the response that I liked most. For me this time is the factor not the number of responses that my discussion got..

It's different for each discussion for me. Sometimes if I'm asking a question and I feel someone's answered it rather well I might give a best response within the first few responses. I usually try to wait it out though and at least give some people a chance to respond. Sometimes I wait a while until I feel I really have the best response. It's just one of those things. I can usually tell right away if I feel a response has the qualities to be a best response.
