Who do you travel with when on vacation?

When my husband and I bought a timeshare, the people who sold it to us wanted very much to know how many children we had, so that we could all go on vacations together. As it is, we usually had vacations with friends instead of my daughters and grandchildren. Now that I´m a widow, I still do that. They belong to another generation and have other ways of have fun. Besides, there´s always activities that are mostly for children. How about you, mylotters? Do you travel alone, with friends, with family? What´s your idea of a vacation?

Most of the time I travel with my husband. I would love to go on a trip with my friends. It would be ultimate fun to go with them and make the most of the time we have...But unfortunately, all my friends are scattered in the country and abroad. And in the near future I do not see any chance of us teaming up. So as a better alternative me and my husbad has planned a trip with one of his friends and family to go to kerala (Southern most state of India and better known as God's own country for its greenery) by the beginnning of next year. We havent so far travelled with my inlaws. I do enjoy travelling with my huaband because that is the only time I get him for myself hi hi

When my husband was alive, we vacationed many times with my friend since I was a school girl and her husband. We had lots of fun and the men got along perfectly well while we talked of the past

I have never travelled with my friends. Now that i have shifted to almost 2000miles away from home town I do not see a chance for tha tooo. I have made friends with my husbands friends, and their wives. The men gather for discussions regarding latest technology and women talk about movies, fashion and all... we plan get togethers at someones place but we are yet to go for vacation together. When the group, is bigger, it gets more diffiult to arrange things.

Hi there my dear friend. I used to travel on my own. I liked to choose my own accommodation, my destination and the pace of traveling. I always met many friendly other travelers. Now I travel with my toddler son. I have been on trips with him to Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and South Africa. In addition to him I will from now on travel with my baby daughter. I am hoping to take them to Canada next year. Hug.

I have not been on vacation in 6 years, when I used to go on vacation it was with my family ... but they don't want to go any more. Now that I am 18, the next time I go on vacation will probably be with my boyfriend or my friends or both. I am unlikely to go on a family holiday again.

That´s part of growing up: your nucleus changes. It happens in every generation.

I am single, so most of the time i am traveling alone. I used to go with friends a lot before. Now i feel like having a female companion and travel with her. Hope this wish is fulfilled

I usually travel with friends or family. I feel uncomfortable going to a whole new place by myself. Its nice to have them along to chat with during the trip too. I guess I could be okay going by myself if I brought a book to read.

i'm not the traveler type but I prefer traveling alone, whenever.. I like going to places without someone that you have to please as well. i love going to places i like and not depending someone's opinion. well sometimes, when i want to visit my parents, my sister flies with me too but often when we're both home, she visits and go out with her friend whereas i prefer to stay at home.

I'm open to traveling with friends or family. Unfortunately..We don't have very much money to travel with, so I usually just go "out of town" (in my state) as "vacations". Although it's hardly anything compared to the people who go abroad, and on tropical vacations. Oh well, though, I guess! I've gone on "vacations" with both my sister and my friends. I can't say which is more enjoyable..I like them both equally.

I have traveled more now that I´m old than when I was young. Money was scarce then. Now travelling is a priority in my life.

The past 25 years of my life I traveled with my close family - meaning my parents and my sister. Now that I'm married though, my husband will be included on that. I love vacationing with my family - couldn't have chose better people to travel with. I look forward to our summer vacations each year!

It´s so nice to travel with the family when you get along with them! I have gone on vacations twice lately with my youngest daughter and my grandchildren. We have had lots of fun.

If I have to choose I will choose my husband and my parents to go with. Usually I just can have one time on vacation. So I wish I can go with them together. I had many experiences with friends to travel together. But now I just want to spend my time with my family. I suppose I already passed the age to go out with friends. If I can I wish my vacation can last at least one month. Then I can have really good management for a trip with my family.

I travel with either my boyfriend or my family. I used to go away on trips with friends but not anymore. I would like to travel alone though and gain independance.

Like you i have opted for a time share.I go on vacation with my wife and children so that my children get a feel of different places.I normally visit seaside, places with scenic beauty as it soothes my mind.My idea of vacation is relaxing at these places with scenic beauty and soak in the atmosphere. While on vacation i spend a day shopping for curios to present friends when i return and to keep as a souvenir of the place i have visited.

It´s much the same I do when I go to the place where we bought the timeshare. But when my husband was alive, we traded the week (and put 2 together) to travel to see the old world. A trip to the south of Spain was specially wonderful, the mixture of cultures is amazing.

When i travel in the past i would be happy to go with my friends. But after i got married i would rather go with my husband . We arranged a few travels together. Now we've got a baby . For years i think we don't have time to travel . And we have to wait until he grows up . Surely we will bring him when we plan to travel again.

It is true you need more commodities with a young child. But you can still travel. Thanks for sharing.

I think the most enjoyable trip is to travel with our friends, no matter how old we are. But as live goes on, our travelling friends will change a little. Like for older one i think they will travel with their kids mostly. While for youngster, travel with their friends rather than with their parents. About the idea, i prefer to go to wherever it is a cooler place as i live in tropical country. But go to beach is one of my favourite as well.
