woo man adding new parts to system is like upgrading ur systems performance but be concious about the components which you are going to add because sometimes it may lead to system disastur and poor efficiency. so my advice will be think twice before u invenst on it

it's really not going to end in a disaster if you add another hardware. first you have to consider if the power supply can handle the supposed hardware that you'll be adding. also one must consider that the hardware that you'll be adding will be compatible with your existing unit.

ya love to some extent it is right as you said the power supply is also important and you have to look into that too!

Well if I need more disk space, then I buy a new hard drive and pop it in. However I learned a hard lesson about performance and memory. Adding memory does help, but not much. More memory is not a replacement for a newer faster CPU. Since I'm not hurting for hard drive space, I think my next upgrade will be a completely new system. No clue when that will happen, but that's the plan.

I have had my current desktop computer for a few years now, so I have added quite a few components so far. To date I have added a couple of SATA drives to increase the storage space, expanded the RAM and added a Sound Card and Graphics Card. I have also replaced the Floppy Drive and the DVD Writer. Of course there are limitations to how far you can upgrade a system, so my next move will be to start afresh and build a new one.

The only peripheral that I have installed by myself was my DVD Burner. Took some time as I had no experience with upgrading computer parts beforehand. I felt a big sense of achievement when I found out that the DVD Burner was working fine afterwards hehe. I wouldnt mind trying to install new RAM or a HDD in the future.

RAM called us random access memory.it helps to acces the information of the stored data .To access faster you need to increase the size of RAM. In every computer you can find the size of RAM is proporationality to the hard disk drive. For a 40 gb hard disk drive a 512 mb RAM is sufficent

I dont agree with you, to improve the efficency of the computer you have to upgrade and for eg you make it 2 GB RAM, it works wonder if you need net and its the best for your video downloads and burning cds!
