Hi there, I think IDM is the best. but I don't like use the direct downloader from youtube, but I like to download from website savevid.com. Just open the website and enter the link of the video and download it. The advantage is you can choose the type(extension) of the video, there are mp4, flv, and HD, so you can choose which type that you want to download

i agree with u! IDM is complete! for download anything... Just one software download run in your Computer. It's enough! to get best performance of your computer

Hi, I have a youtube account and I do download vids from time to time. The best web broser that works for me is Apple Saffari. I have also IE8 but I have encounterd problems using it on youtube. that is IE8. I do not use any other solfware to upload youtube.

If you have a Mac, the easiest way to do it, is to go on youtube with Safari, and on the top press window, and then activity, and pick the file with the most memory. On firefox with PC, you can download a plugin that will download the file to your desktop, but if it isn't HQ then it's in flash format, which is a pain to convert.

my favourite is still internet download manager because it is very simle download manager and very fast and very simple configuration and for newbie is very helpfull

I have good experience with downloadhelper which is a simple firefox addon which also works for other video sites. Perhaps you could give it a try.

I'm not really into "YouTube-ing" but I do know that vixy.net converts Youtube videos as well as other sites into several formats (mobile, avi etc...) of which you'll automatically download as the conversion finished all for free!!
