With remote control, things are easier these days. Just close the car doors and from a short distance, armed it with a press of a button on your key holder. But things were not that easy before the advent of technology. In early days, we lock our cars using a key. Then, came central locking and we lock one master-lock and all the doors are automatically secured. Evens so, with technology, cars still get stolen. So, car owners buy steering locks and gear locks. However, these remote control are not trustworthy. When the battery is misaligned in the battery compartment, you cannot open it then. It will give off a piercing siren from the horn if you failed to disarm the car. Woe betide you if you do not where the secret switch is to disarm the alarm from inside your car! For me, these days I have dispensed with locking using remote. I just do central locking with my key. It may not be super secured but it is easier and I do not have to worry with technological hiccups. So how do you lock your car? With the remote control or just the trusted key?
