Has anyone heard of a Tack party?

Horse in Harness, One of my Drawings - I drew this horse in harness using MS Paint. I love how it turned out.

I was looking at Facebook and on the sidebar was an ad for Rockin Y Tack store that sells new and used tack. So I thought that sounded cool and I clicked on it to check it out. Here's the link btw http://www.rockinytack.com/ On their home page it says they do "Consignments, Special Orders, and Tack Parties" and I was wondering, what in the world is a Tack Party? Is it sort of like a Tupperware party except with horses tack? Is the tack for sale or do people trade tack? I don't know, it just sounded interesting and was something I'd never heard of before.

Never heard of it, but it sounds like a way I could get in a LOT of trouble with my husband. I have 1 horse and 1 mule and enough tack already to outfit 10 or 12 horses!~ LOL Yes, I have a problem.

This is Melissa and Stacey from Rockin Y Tack. Yes, it's like a "Tupperware" party except we bring a ton of Tack catalogs you can order from and we'll bring a bunch of used tack we have in on consignment. We offer 20% off retail price on new tack orders, and free shipping. The host of the party gets 5% of sales from the party (so if your club hosts, your club gets that money) and there's a $50 Gift Certificate to Rockin Y Tack raffled off at the end of the party. They're lots of fun and a great way to save money on your tack and supplies. We're really open to suggestions, so if people wanted to incorporate a tack swap into the party we could work that out too. Just give us a call with any questions...

I have ridden at many barns and periodically we had tack parties. Everyone would bring their tack and cleaning supplies and we would go into the lounge room where the parents watched when we rode and we would have food and talk and clean our tack. This usually happened right before a big show. Sometimes we would clean the horses too.
