I went to Julie and Julia this morning with my mom, and I have to say... I enjoyed it even more than I thought I would. It was a very good movie, cute and funny. The acting was great by everyone!! I can honestly say I believe that it is one of my favorite movies I have seen this year. It is almost two and a half hours long, so make sure you are really in a movie mood before you go to it!

Did you see "Time Traveller's Wife"? I thought that one was good--even and especially for a so-called "chick flick". DR...

What's wrong with the Terminator? j/k. Consider giving the Time Traveller's wife a chance--it's more heartfelt than you'd imagine.

No, I haven't seen that one--time traveling movies always seem to bug me...they're kind of a pet peeve of mine lol. Don't get me started on my argument against The Terminator :P lol

Well I LOVE the Terminator! lol. It's a great movie, I watch it every time it comes on tv (it's too graphic on tape/dvd lol). But the WHOLE thing with Conner sending his own father back in time to save his mom....no way! lol. Don't get me started! :P I didn't hear the best thing about Time Travelers Wife from my radio station, but if my mom needed someone to go with (she said she might want to see it) I may go. It's just not a movie that I'll take initiative to go see.

Thank you for letting us know what a good movie it is. I am not sure when I'll ever get to a theater again, because of the cost, but maybe I'll have to make an exception for this one. Or maybe I'll wait till it comes out on DVD, and watch it from the comfort of my own living room, where I don't have to worry about ushers stealing my popcorn, because I didn't buy it in the lobby. hahahaha

Something that the theaters here do is any movies before Noon are only 5 dollars a ticket, instead of 9.50. So maybe if the theaters where you are offer the same thing then it would be cheaper for you. The ushers steal your popcorn!?!? O_o I sneak stuff into the theater too :P lol. Not popcorn, but candy. :D Of course there are perks to waiting for dvd too.

I always used to sneak in food too in the movies, only since I didn't care for any of the food they'd offer at the movie theaters...candy is definitely a no-no with my blood sugar

I'm not much of a movie goer per se but do love movies...the problem is that the one and only movie theater near me doesn't have a "stellar" selection of movies that they show...they seem to cater to the crowd of most people who live here that seem to like the gory slasher type movies. So no chance in heck would they show Julia & Julie. I'm hoping to see it on DVD when it comes out..or might even be able to catch it on one of those on-line movie websites. This definitely would be a movie I'd want to see though since I became involved with French cooking some 30 years ago..but not due to Juila Child....but a then new upcoming French chef she introduced to the world...Jacques Pepin...hey maybe I should do my own blog project like Julie??? And call it the Jacques & Melanie project...LOL

oh yeah! those bloody nasty slasher movies are no good! :( Halloween 2? (boo) I can't wait for All About Steve, that looks like it's going to be really cute and funny! :) I'm sorry you don't get a ton of movie options :( That would suck for me since I"m such a big movie fan! Is it bad that I didn't really know who Julia Child was before this movie? lol
