Hi is anyone out there a Black Friday Christmas shopper? (Thats what we call it here where I'm from) I'm not I don't like getting up at 5:am in the morning to deal with long lines and people waiting for the doors to open.I have never been Black Friday Shopping and don't plan on going lol. I know some people can be right nasty when there is a huge sale going on especially when the store is about to run out of that particuliar item, I do understand wanting to cash in on great sales the store will have like 50-75% off regular items but you can get that a a couple of weeks before Christmas as well. Although sometimes the variety is not the greatest but that depends on where you shop. Then theres finding a place to store all the stuff you buy before the big day arrives and keeping your family (especially the kids) from trying to sneek a peek at their presents before you have a chance to be wrap them. I'm interested in reading about some of your Christmas Shopping experiences.

I never wanted to shop on Black Friday and did not understand the people that actually looked forward to it weeks in advance. In fact, I would totally avoid the stores that entire weekend, because it was just too crowded and chaotic. Last year, however, my husband had a crazy work schedule, and we had to fit Christmas shopping in around his schedule whenever possible. As it turned out, Black Friday was one of the days that he actually didn't have to work, so we sucked it up and decided to go shopping. There was no way that we were going to get up at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning to go shopping, so we waited until around 9:00 and were determined to relax and just try to enjoy the day. We were prepared for the worst - no parking spots, crowded stores with people bumping into you all the time, nasty people, waiting in line for hours to check out, etc. We were actually pleasantly surprised, though. The crowds weren't that bad, we found parking without too much trouble, people were generally polite, and the checkout lines went pretty quickly. The best part was that we got some great deals on things we really wanted, such as new movies for $2 and new video games for $10! It turned out that we didn't really have to try that hard to enjoy the day. I don't know whether or not we will do it again this year, but it worked out well last year.

Yeah, it's really important to enjoy yourself when you are Christmas shopping, especially since I am such a big kid and get really excited about it. Also, I only had a limited amount of time to spend with my husband due to his schedule last year, so I was doubly excited about the shopping trip. I was so glad that we both had a lot of fun, and I think we might try it again this year. I think you are right that waiting a little later in the day and just relaxing and enjoying the experience was the key.

Hi Purplealabaster Sounds like you had a good experience with Black Friday Shopping .Maybe waiting a few hours lster to go is a good strategy you got your bargains and didn't have to deal with the hassles of parking and crowds. Shopping is suposed to be a pleasant experience especially around that time of the year nothing like a big crowd long lines or a bunch of picked over merchandise to suck the fun out shopping.

I love to go shopping on Black Friday. I'm actually getting antsy thinking about the deals that may come about this year. I'm really hoping that some certain items go on sale this year so I can hopefully get some good deals on several items. The places I tend to shop on Black Friday usually never are that full of people. I've gone a few years where they are a bit crowded but last year it wasn't so bad so I'm hoping that this year it isn't so bad and that it's quite easy to get in, get what we want and get out.

I love to go shopping, but those sales drive me nuts. It is not that I don't think they have good deals-they do. I just do not like the choas that is involved. I try to go Christmas shopping from June forward. This helps me with my budget, and my sanity. This way I am not budget shopping even more so, because I am trying to buy everything all at once. This way I can also take advantage of other sales. I like to go to the outlet malls. Bath and Body Works here has an outlet, and I love giving gift baskets of my friends favorite scents!

I can't say that I have't gotten up early for the BLACK FRIDAY shopping extraviganza (more than once a year :P ) , but I can say that IT'S CERTAINLY NOT MY THING. I tried it, but it was tooooooooooooooooo outrageous! I will tell you one thing for certain, AND THIS IS NOT AGAINST ANYONE, but...The past couple of years, I have really seen what Christmas means to people and it has nothing to do with Jesus or the spirit of Christmas or bringing people closer or joyous together...

I don't often shop for things on Black Friday, but I will occasionally. If I do, though. It won't be for others for Christmas, it would only be for myself.

You just have to think of it differently. I love going out shopping on that friday, I can make a lot of money in just a few hours. Thats right make money. Often times the super special deals that they are offering make the items so cheap that you can buy them, than bring them home and put them up on ebay. Then you can make money and buy yourself a really nice gift during the post christmas day sales, which by the way are another opportunity to buy more stuff to sell.

Because I have such a tiny gift budget, I have to buy gifts throughout the year for my family or I won't be able to get them anything. So doing the shopping on one day, Black Friday doesn't work for me. Plus I really hate all those lines and the pushing and shoving and yelling and sitting for hours in the cold and dark outside before the doors open. It's just not for me though I admire the persistance and determination of those who do it year after year!!

Hello! This is something I have always wanted to check out to see what kind of deals you just may even be able to get. Also, I heard they give out many beauty samples and perfume samples, and free things . My aunts always go ,but never me , and the reason is no matter what a deal it is I am usually broke all the time right after the holiday.

I love to go Black Friday shopping. It's been a tradition in my family to wake up at 5:30 in the morning and shop all out on Black Friday. But lately, there hasn't been any sales on that day that much and people stopped going. I remember I would wait so long to buy a shirt or a pair of shoes. But now, I only wait like less than 5 minutes and then I'm done. Ever since the economy is getting worse and worse, people limit themselves to purchasing tons of items. I've been reducing my shopping to a minimum too. I still go to the mall every year, but I just know that I have to manage my budget and reduce my shopping. But I recommend people to still go out on that day, but lately, there hasn't been lots of sales so don't spend too much!
