I've always wondered about this. Since I'm a big fan of XP, I would prefer it over Vista. So, if I get a new computer with Vista on it. Is it possible to install the XP OS and get rid of the Vista OS completely?

Cheers for XP fans! Oh, of course you can get rid of Vista. Once you get a new PC first of all remove Vista from your machine and install XP. Oh wait, I am dumbfounded! How will Vista format itself?? How DID I do this? Well, I don't remember... if you are reading this post, hang on. I will find someday. Sorry I turned out be no help at all...

Ask your PC manufacter whether you are eligible for xp downgrade. If yes, you can migrate back to vista without loosing any of your settings. If you are not eligible, boot from your Xp installation disk, format the partition where vista is installed and then set up Xp on the newly formated partition
