and are you paranoid? The H1N1 situation is really alarming and every day we read about people dying because of this flu in the newspaper. Let's see how is the H1N1 make your life style and daily routine changes... For us, we have : 1. We have bought some face masks and hand sanitizers. Never thought of buying this 2 items before this H1N1 pandemic. 2. My kids have been cooped in the house for more than few weeks time, . They have to stay at home because of the H1N1. It is better not to bring them to crowded places like markets, malls and parks. My hubs is so concerned of the A pandemic that he is even reluctant to bring the kids out even at our neighborhood. Let's share yours !

Nope, I'm not paranoid because the H1N1 scare is not a scare anymore in my place. The flu season has come and gone and there were a lot of sick school children and the school had to cancel classes. But there were no outbreak in my city, only two cases but were contained. The government has requested the people to treat H1N1 as a regular flu. So far, there has been no much hype and news about it but the people are doing their best to not get the flu of anykind. It's been normal and nothing has changed except for the habits of washing hands, etc.

As for me, most times i forget it is H1N1 crisis unless somebody coughs or sneezes. But nowadays I seldom go to supermarkets to get my groceries, I do most of my shopping in nearby sundry shops where it is open aired. But when it comes to eating in crowded places, I forget totally about this flu. As for smaller kids or elderly people, it is advisable to avoid crowded places...

Hello Reanaclair, So you are worry on the H1N1 outbreak and hence you have change to get your groceries to open aired sundry shop. I guess there are many of us are doing so to avoid for the crowded places at the malls or supermarket. I think the sales at the super market is dropping a lot. Besides avoid crowded places, we also need to take good care of our health. Try to eat healthy food and avoid getting sick. For kids and elderly, do remind them to take enough vitamin and take good rest everyday! Do take care and happy Mylotting!

Sounds like the H1N1 situation is bad in your area. I'm not paranoid about it and have been in public places such as a casino and sporting events with large crowds of people. I am concerned though because it is in our area. It has hit a couple of colleges in Missouri but is not out of control. I take care of our little grandbaby on a regular basis and wouldn't want to get this virus and carry it to her. She's only 10 months old. I've always been a big hand washer and make certain now I wash my hands more often especially if I've been out in public and handling things. Can't be too safe. Stay well, carolbee

My family just tends to wash there hands more frequently now and tries to avoid people that are coughing and sneezing and if a family member is sick and needs to go to the hospital we try to take what ever precautions we can to avoid getting it from the hospital.

Dear vingyan, We do cut down a lot of activities. No more chasing those Mix FM Road Runners, no more weekend at the mall - or window shopping whole day. What we did is get the movie ticket one day earlier. The next day go early to the mall, watch the movie, go for lunch and off back home! Instead of 3 days at supermarket for grocery, I only goes once a week during weekday where there are less crowd. Still go for the AGMs meetings, but hardly enter the meeting room, most of us are advise to wear mask before go in. The procedure is checked our temperature, given a mask to wear before enter the meeting room. Last weekend we went to The Summit Hotel for buffet hi-tea, only have 3 families there that day, could be due to H1N1 and Fasting Month. I heard from my sister, even the Bazaar Ramadhan has less crowd this year. Most people prefer home cook this year.

Dear Iriene, Yeah, I have came across many friends and family of mine had cut the their activities which involve in crowded places. But you still going well, you still can go for a movie with your family! I have met the Mix FM road runners before. They are giving lot of gifts ? And what you are doing, what AGM's meeting you mentioned above? About the H1N1 outbreak, I can see Malaysian had change a lot in the living lifestyle and daily routine. I can see some of the malls in town have prepare some free hand sanitizers near the escalators. This is good for everyone to take care of their hands! Now the economy already so bad, more ever due to the H1N1 swing flu the economy is going to get worse, I bet. I just hope things will turn good in real soon!

Hi Vingyan, I just came back from One Utama...surprisingly today is crowded! I went to Garden Restaurant for set lunch, went to watch the latest Disney-Pixar animation movie called UP...it is really good! Cinema quite full - mostly are Malays for this hall, my hubby and my son watched Eddie Murphy latest movie called 'Imagine-That'..not many people. They have watched 'UP' last week... Yes, One Utama also had the 'hand sanitizer' fixed at the pillars. I think more people today because tomorrow is holiday for Selangor. Many people wear masks. Oh, regarding the AGM meeting, my sister normally 'proxy' me to attend some shares that she has. AGM - Annual General Meeting at times has free gift, movie tickets and hotel buffet vouchers. All the best and take care!

vingyan.. yes, I think nowadays the pandamic is getting into our nerves!!! I finally couldn't take it, and took my girl to the mall on a weekday afternoon. Anyway, I always but hand sanitizer since the SARS, but not the face mask since I am not one that will wear it on my face. I think it's good that we take precaution and just be extra careful with where we going, what we touch and so forth. And after coming back from outside, we just have to make sure we clean ourselves up thouroughly, or else I think we will be really go crazy staying at home..

Hello Cwong, So you mean you and your daughter also keep at home for quite some times already? Me too could not resist not to shop for too long time hence I went to the town and shop for something for myself last night. My daughter likes to go along with me but the hubs reluctant to bring the kids go shopping malls. So pity my daughter. End up my hubs bring the kids to my mother in law's house. At least the kids can have some good time in my in laws there rather than crazy staying at home, LOL. Now we have to practice to wash our hands when ever we come back from outside. My daughter is so busy asking me what she had touch and why mummy and daddy keep asking her to wash hands, ! I just hope everything will be fine real soon and we can go back to the normal daily routine, go out when ever we like, shop till we drop!!!

I just got a call from one of my friends. He asked if my husband and I can help him to let his sun staying at our flat for one week. The reason is he had contacted with Swine Flue patient, so he does not want his kid having it. I don’t mind too much, until now my husband and I have no changed in our daily life. Although the news talk it every day but our life seems no change. However last June I was in China and I saw people were panic. I was trying not meet friends in the first 7 days after I arrived. I understand these people. But now if the disease is already spreading we seem have no where to escape. My attitude is we should live as before. If it happens then it happens.

People and especially kids have to go outside everyday otherwise they might get health problems. This sounds weird with this pandemic but hey did you know that with the normal flu more people die in general than with this swine flu, as of yet? So I don't really understand all the panic. When you live in fairly good hygiene circumstances and you're in fairly good health you're easily going to survive this flu. Don't make things worse than they are, you might give your kiddos a trauma...

It's not really on my mind a lot. I know that the radio stations allows for you to receive updates from them when news hits and there has already been atleast 5 school closings since school started about 3 weeks ago here. Also, I think people are really making more of a big deal about it than it really is. But that is just me. My mom works for a company called team health and they have come around already to give a flu shot and they will have the h1n1 shot for them to take in November. They received a letter from the CDC which the center of disease control here in the US and they are preparing for a pandemic. They have been requiring everyone to have wipes at there desk and they have hand sanatizer as well. They have also been setting those who qualify up for work on the IDX system that they have to be able to do work at home if it got to the point and they had to shut down or had to stay home because of the virus.

Hello there, I think the H1N1 will affect more to people with children cos children and elders are more prone to getting the virus. I have hold back my travelling plan with my family to HongKong and Thailand because of H1N1 during school holiday. My children are getting a bit sulky for not able to travel during their school holiday. Also, I would make sure that they wash their hands thoroughly and more often. We also avoid going to crowded place like the shoppong malls and replace it by bringing them to outdoor like kite flying or cycling in the park. Have a great weekend ahead =))

Lets calm our nerves. This AH1N1 pandemic though very rapid in spreading is not so virulent. The virus has lack of enzyme that could make it so dangerous.People who are at risk are the one should be guarded. Yet the second wave of its kind hasn't emerge for now.So keep our selves healthy and preventive with all kinds of diseases.

I am not paranoid at all. I'm not even worrying about it. The normal flu virus kills far more people each year and is a lot more widespread. However I am in the UK and am currently in an area which has not been affected too badly. I suppose was I in a place with a large number of cases I may be slightly more worried.
