What do you think? Me and my sister are trying to pin down our winter vacation plans but haven't been able to decide between the two. Which would you suggest, and why? Which has more entertainment, which is cheaper, and which has more beautiful views? I would LOVE to hear your opinion & experiences if you have them! This would help us SO much!

Depending on your budget, both islands are gorgeous and fun. Maui has gorgeous beaches and caters to a large number of tourists each year. They have heaps of tours of every sort and a few places up their sleeve that no other island has. They are a bit more country, laid back and really touristy. As for Honolulu, you may find it a bit more accomodating in that this island has a bit of everything. You can't throw a stick without hitting a beach and Waikiki is a grand place to do shopping, surfing, dining and just going for a stroll. They also have some modern features there, like Sea World, the Aquarium and Hawaiian Adventures Water Park. If you like history, downtown is full of historical sights and buildings, giving you a better picture of the Hawaiian people and their continuous struggle since the Annexation to the United States. Both islands have a lot to offer, it just depends on what you can handle. Maui is much more country, very touristy and can get to be a bit expensive. Oahu (Honolulu) does have bit more of a city life, just in case you get island fever, but is easily escapable and has some gorgeous mountain ranges that can take your breath away.
