My name says I am a Christian even though nobody will figure it out by seeing me. My middle and last name say I am Cathoic. I don't like the idea of naming children being in the boundaries of religion or race. I have decided to name my kids in such a way that their name won't talk about their religion or race. Do you agree with it? What about your name?

yes,my name reveals my religion. Most parents want their children to be a religious person too and so when it comes to naming a child they depend on the religion to search a name from it. if any one keeps a name related to another religion ,people points fingers towards him and back bites against him, they say its against our religion!

Yes, the religious factor in names happening evrywhere. My husband has collected some names which belong to other religion, but I cut it not because I care about, but my parents will get mad if we name the kids like that.I recently heard that there is a particular set of names of black people and another set of names for white people. It is very bad,we should not include religion with names.

There is no problem if your name reveals your religion, in fact you should be proud about it. I do not really think my name reveals my race or religion. Even if it does I am not worried because I am known for what I am, after all what is in a name?

I understand. But, the name that revels the religion of a person may put you in trouble sometimes especially in a country where people are crazy about their religion and want to kill people belogn to another religion. The problem is very visible in Arab countries. If you and your colleague has the same experience and do the same job, your colleague will get paid more there if he is from a particular religion.

Not at all. My name was originally a religious one, but now it is not and I am not religious anyways. My last name is English, but I am a mix with German, English, Spanish, and Native American in my blood.

My first name does not revel my religion, but my last name does reveal that. Infact I'm proud to have shown my religion & also to represent my father. Your name should represent your family & religion. Well, this is what I think & ofcourse the opinion can change from person to person Happy Lotting

Hi Dalia, yes, my name shows my religion but not my caste. In our community they name the child after some god's name or after some ancestors usually grandparents. In this way they will be calling god's name many times during the day.Or if it is a grandparents name will be remembering them. I am proud of my religion and dont find anything wrong in naming the children which revelas the religion.

My name reveals my religion, who my forefathers are and even my caste. I just love my name. No problems whatsoever with it.
