Do you look at the stars?

India
September 11, 2009 3:43am CST
In myLot we got the stars in before our names after reaching the number of posts to 100. Some of them have less star rating and the many of the friends have more star rating. But, any way, Everyone surely looked the stars in the myLot.. I am not talking about that. Do you look up the real stars in the sky? How much time did you look at the sky? Frankly, i saw the sky at the night time after nearly one week. Most of the time i am online or do some works inside the home. Or roaming around with enjoying the life at the land. I saw it while going to the terrace and being there enjoying the night vision for a hour. But, when we look at the sky, you can feel the peace and something good feeling you have with the blinking stars in the dark sky. Do you visit the terrace? How frequently? Do you think the fast moving world just screen our eyes from the wonderful views? Which is the one you visited recently which makes you feel better and peaceful? Share, Have a great day.

Frankly speaking, it's been awhile since I've seen the stars. I kinda miss it, now that you've mentioned this in your discussion; all the more. I think I saw once a shooting star and we have this myth that it's a bad thing about to happen to someone and if you speak aloud about it, the bad deed won't happen. I really think stars are special. And there's also starfish..

dbutheking, I love both the top and bottom, ha.. actually looking at the sea starfishes give me a calming feeling, and looking at the stars up above at night, gives me a somewhat mystic feeling. And when combined, the feeling is totally ecstatic.

Parakeets - Some of our pets
Hi there!Well, I love looking at stars. Stars that are our user rating here in Mylot, stars in the sky and even stars of show business. I like star gazing and more often than not, when I'm outdoors in the evening, I always take time to breathe and take a look at the stars. I'm a bit saddened to when there isn't much stars in the sky. Well, my mother used to tell me that it will rain when there isn't much stars in the sky in the evening. I haven't really observe if that was true or not. Maybe one of these days. I love looking at the stars because I love how they appear to twinkle. They can be really hypnotizing too. It's also romantic when you go star gazing with your significant other. The setting becomes romantic and whimsical. The last time that I felt peaceful and in touch with nature was when I saw a rainbow. When we were living in the city, I rarely see one but for our four year stay here in the province, I saw the rainbow twice and it never fail to left me in awe. I think that it's really beautiful and I believe that it goes with God's promise after the big flood. It is an art that has a spiritual meaning. I also love watching our pets, our parakeets because I love their colors. I also think that they are really smart and that each of them have distinctive characteristics in their behaviors that makes each of them recognizable even though they all look alike with just subtle differences in appearance

You're right. Our parakeets helps ease tension and stress. I would recommend them for people who are always tired and stressed with work or whatever it is that preoccupy them. Thank you very much for choosing my post as the best response.

Yes, watching stars along with someone we love is romantic and make us happier. We saw the rainbow most of the time after raining. We enjoy rainbows always after rainbows. But sadly, i also missed those when i grown up.. Parakeets are nicer. I looked at it. I also love to have pets but my parents didn't allow and also don't have space to have it to maintain... Being with our pets also make us peaceful.. Have a nice day.

Stars - Stars
I love looking at the stars at night when I roam around simply in the terrace after dinner. The most amazing thing according to me is looking at the night sky while lying down. When we lie down & look at the sky we see nothing other than the sky & the stars. There is no obstructions in between, not even in the sides & we will see only the sky. After looking at the sky for 5mins I feel as if I'm in another world & its so relaxing. You can try it sometimes Happy Lotting

Hello dbutheking..How are you today? The stars? Lets see.. Oh yes the stars in the sky.. I love to watch them but as you can tell I haven't done of that much star watching in the last couple of months. Me and hubby use to make it an nightly thing to go out and sit and watch the sky for a while. We would talk about how they seem to take on different shapes and locations each night. To watch the stars is so relaxing. Thanks for reminding me of what I am missing..Have a good day..

Hi dbu, at the moment I couldn't see any star beside your username. I wonder why the blue star is not visible while typing on the response area! I like surfing net sitting in front of the desk facing to the window. I can see the white cloud moving relaxingly in the blue sky only I can’t see the stars even during nighttime. I’m too engrossed in typing mylot posts. I saw a few blinking stars last night while pulling the curtains to cover the window pine after I turn off the pc. It’s my bedtime and I didn’t want the blinking light to disturb my proper rest. Happy posting

Seems that reputation bringing lots of pleasure to you eh... Yeah, I can see from the attached image how clear the reputations shown on the page are. I know you have spent some time to do this favor. Thanks a lot for that my dear I would like to leave a word or two there later on. Are you willing to leave any comment on friends’ photos that happen to occur in your discussion? Or you just let go it after having a view on it? I usually would type some words in the comment space to show my gratitude for sharing the photo. Have a nice day!

I love to look at the stars, but there's so much light from the city here that they are hard to see. I once thought I'd like to be an astronomer, but there's too much math for me

Austin is a large city and even on top of buildings - if I could find one to get on top of - the light pollution is too much to see any but the brightest stars

Oh! So, Austin is a very huge city. Don't they switch off the lights during night time?

Yes, it is tough to see the open sky as there are too much light on the buildings. If you go to the top of the building or the terrace, you may see the stars clearly and Enjoy it. I also wanted to become a astronomer but give up due to the same reason as you.

At home, we don't have terrace. We only have a window, but when I go out of the house I can see the stars but not in dramatic way. Frankly speaking, I am afraid to look at sky when it is night and there are stars all over. I can't breathe it is like they are all coming down at me. I can't look and all I can see is a sky, It must be really frightening to me but of course for people like you that is a fascinating scene. I just can't take it.

I remember it began when I was with my friends on the beach. We were telling stories about our past life, lying down on the beach on the cold night facing the sky full of stars. I remember i was looking above and i felt frightening feeling , that was really strange. I just began to feel the difficulty in breathing and I was afraid to look up on the sky.

Little strange, Why do you think about the sky just falling down? Any child hood threats from your parents? Most of us in the child hood were threatened about the somethings in the child hood which is just the fun for the others. They shows the sky darkness and tell them there is a devil there if you don't eat i will call the devil like that. Do you have such effects? Have a great day.

I am often looking out the window whilst on the computer. However, I am hardly on the computer in the night hours anymore. I haven't looked outside at the night sky in a week. We are hardly out at night time, usually inside the house. Sometimes My fiance and I will be staying somewhere else and I'll have to let him inside after work... and it will be dark. I glimpse at the sky then. The night sky is beautiful for it's own reasons, and stars are a beautiful mystery. However, day time is also quite pleasant. I live in a rural area, and it's beautiful here.

Yes, rural areas are very lovely. We do not have houses around us, though there are a few houses, we have a nice patch of land. It is sad to miss the beauty of the night time, but the early morning is great, Alice. I haven't gotten up very very early in awhile, the earliest being 5:30 though, so I guess that is early! lol! Tomorrow we'll be getting up at around that time as well for my fiance to be at work. If I get the job I want to get (fingers crossed) I'll be getting up at around 6:00 AM to be at my job around 8 AM...

Skys look always beautiful. Especially in the Rural areas. I also live in the rural area. But there are lots of houses crowded for 500 meters but after that there are all plenty plains and forests... So, your computer is at the room from which you can see the stars directly with out moving.. That's great. I cannot view stars from the computer room.. Have a nice day.

When I was a kid I lived in the province and stargazing was one of my favorite pastimes. I like it best when they're there along with the moon. Most of my dreams as a child were formed/conceptualized while looking at them, they were the symbol for things I wanted to achieve. Well that was a long, long time ago. Now the only star I look at is my myLot star.
• India
12 Sep 09
Hi doryvien, Yes, most of us when we are kids we feel like playing with the moons and stars just like those in the cartoon shows. Most of them doing the same. They enjoy while they are kids and now most of them are missing these small enjoyable things. I want to spend time to view the nature atleast for 5 minutes a day. May be the reason why you don't look at the stars may be myLot stars have many colors but the stars in the sky don't have many colors. This is the reason right? Have a great day..

Well for one the myLot star is the only star that is easily available for my viewing, I don't go out at night anymore to look up to the skies and see those little sparkles. Second, the myLot star changes its color depending on the other members, I remember when my star turned from blue to red after giving an opinion that was different from the majority of respondents - maybe I made someone unhappy and punished me for it. Somehow it made me feel sad, but I felt good when it turned blue again. Not that it means so much, but it's the only star I get to see these days so better watch it closely.

Hi dbu the king I can't stop chuckle after I visit your profile page.. so you are dbu the king,,hehehe.. I can't see star from my home, in the city, the lights from lamps, cars/vehicles, shops, etc.. it makes the stars hard to see here But I love to see it. Sometimes in my holiday in mountain area, at night I can hear cricket's sounds and gaze to the star. It's amazing, like bring me to other word. Some of the star have million light-year distance from us, so it's just like see to the past, because actually the light that we see from that star is produced by the star millions years ago.. it's quiet confusing but so..deep...

Yes, I like to watch the blinking stars displaying on the night sky since I was a kid. I often dreaming that I escape from something I don't like and fly to the unlimited night sky and reached the heaven which is surrounded by million stars. Even I have dream it until now ( childish enough huh... ). Every time I am in a bad mood, I make my self a cup of coffee or hot tea and bring it to my terrace, sitting on the wooden chair close to my favorite jasmine bush, watching above to the wonderful dark blue sky, my fantasy would be running wild, even I imagine a flying unicorn appear among the blinking bright stars. I know the stars are so far away that probably they have already unavailable when I enjoy the blessing yet calming aura. Or on the contrary, when someday I fade away, this star would be remain forever and bless other mankind on the other era. whew....believe or not, tears come to my eyes when I write this, remind me to Magnificent God who created all this...

Others times when I am indoors I might go to my window at night and just look up into the sky to see if there are any stars. I am though not a person who looks at the sky every night it is just sometimes I do once in awhile.I have a few times seen a falling star or I should say what I thought might be a falling star.
