my son is 4 years old now. he started reading about 5 months ago. now he can read sentences. he can even search the web on his own looking for spongebob and other cartoons. he does math, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. he also knows his fractions and roman numerals. he is in preschool and next year he will be in first grade. do you think this is normal for a 4-year-old boy? sometimes i feel very worried when he goes to school because all his classmates are much older than him. some are already 7 years old. i am worried that someday he will get tired of going to school even though now he enjoys it tremendously.

He is a normal child do not worry for that however as you said that he might feel bored to go to school after as he is a bit small to start now but we got no choice too, I remember when I joined work I had to send the child to a pre-school, he was three years old then, till today he likes school though.

Actually he is not my baby but the baby of my sister and due to some problems the baby stays with us so now he is 4 and a half, very naughty though but very loving too. Now when I ask him to come and study he says he is either hungry, sleepy or someone is calling him, such a mischievous child but when I went to the school to ask his teacher he said he works very well in class and his notes are very good, so maybe he is fed up when he come back from school to again take the books and notes.
