What does 9-11 mean to you?

I think it makes a lot of people sad to remember this day happening eight years ago. I remember I was at work, and I had only been here for three months when I got a phone call for one of our outside guys saying that they hit the towers, and I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, until I found it online. It was awful to see and hear all that destruction going on and to know that humans caused this, on purpose. It made me sick. I think for months, I did nothing but watch program after program on television and on the internet about this disaster. I just couldn't let it go. Even to this day I will watch something. I guess it just makes me feel closer to the victims and their familieis in hopes of being able to provide some sort of comfort to them all inside my heart and in my soul. That is the least I can do.

I think 9-11 is already all people’s forever memory. I was shocked when I heard the news. I could not believe it happened in USA. It changed my view about the country and the world. I felt not safe and also felt our life is so weak. I had a friend he worked in one of the twin towers. He was lucky at the day he was not inside. When I sent my email him he replied calmly. He said he was lucky but as many Americans he did not feel scared. I wish history will not repeat.

I think I was in 6th grade or some year in middle school (I am 19 now..So I would have been 11 then) and we saw it as an afterthought on TV during school. It was definitely sobering and I didn't really understand it at the time. (I still don't really understand it, actually). Thankfully none of my family or friends were hurt or killed as a result of it.
