"US imperialism has become ever more arrogant and overbearing in asserting its imperial power over the Philippines. It is trampling on Philippine sovereignty with utter impunity emboldened by the outright puppetry and servility of the Arroyo government," Madlos said in a statement on the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) website (www.philippinerevolution.net). Do you agree with this statement of the Communist Party of Philippines Leader and a call for the war with the U.S.v/s the NPA

I really could not say about anything about this since they are not the one that is in power right now. The world community does not recognized them as a sovereign ruler of our land and as far as I am concerned even if they wage war with them they do not represent the majority of the population here in the Philippines. I guess if they are the ones that rule our land then they could declare war against any country. I think they should prove the world that they represent the sentiment of the whole nation and not of their own. As far as the US going in and out of our territory for as long as they do not harm any of our citizen I guess we should allow them in our territory. For as long as they aid us and protect us from our enemies then we should retain friendly relations with them. What the NPA wants is we become isolated from the rest of the world. We could not stand on our own foot. For sure we would be invaded by our big neighbor country if we detach ourselves with the US. WE could barely defend our country what more if we are not backed up by US.

Hi....rsa Thank you for your response . You are right . As far as the U.S is protecting and giving necessary aid to the country and making no harm for its people there is no point waging a war against them. As far as I knew communists are a minority outfit in Philippines and they are against the prosperity and development of the country . If you are taking the example of any developing democracy, you can see the destabilising activity of this outfit.

Yes we have to accept that we are not ready to really protect our borders. Once we broke relations with them, I could just imagine how Malaysia and Indonesia would still treat us since the only thing that stops them from invading us is our friendly relations with US. Of course they would never intent anything ill about our country because of the known fact we are allied with US.

To answer the question, I would say, "No!". Philippines is a separate state and in no way can any foreign state intervene with our domestic issues. I can even remember when a foreigner participated in a rally, he was detained before he was deported to his country. In case of the NPA, the NPA has been found to be weak as of now although there were still isolated reports of attacks by the group. The NPA is no longer a group which aims to topple the government. They're purely criminals without difference from bandits. They exist and attack communication towers not to topple the government but becuase these companies does not pay revolutionary taxes. If US will participate to pursuit these people, regardless if they will succeed, is a big slap into the faces of every filipino. What is the use of our government then? What is the use of our Policemen and the Armed forces of the Philippines? We could get rid of the NPA with the help of the United States of America but do we really need it? Dont we have the ability to detroy each of them? Again, I want to suggest lets talk abot Corruprtion first. :-)

Hi Danzylop I agree with your viewpoints. The corruption is one of the main factor in all the developing countries.Sometimes I feel this crossing all the limits. Wish you great times ahead!!!

i think we should give the communist a fighting chance to defend our country. now, if they win they will still have to fight the AFP and by that time they are actually and already weak..if US wins, then we don't have a problem anymore..greetings!

A good idea. As in any fight , the innocents will be the losers.

The U.S. Troops are here for one reason only..and that is the Veterans Forces Agreement - to help and supervise our troops in latest technology. Probably because they feel intimidated with the way of the US's poking noses where they don't belong strategy, and probably because of North Korea's defiance to the US as they are still considered in the US terrorist list.I am so frustrated with our government depending too much on the US, that's were always been step on and allow their troops to get away when ever they raped our women..that's probably why they are so tick. but the NPA had more sins than the US troops, and that is threatening and killing Villagers when ever they refuse them food, shelter or others.

Hi..Letran Let me put it like this .Any underdeveloped or developing country have to depend the developing country for its existence in defence .After the cold war the USSR is perished as a super power. So U.S. is the super power and all other developed countries are its allies or beneficiaries of its aid. As far as I concerned the communists/naxalites are more dangerous than the U.S.

I agree with the statement. But the Philippines have no choice but to cling on its allies.Lets accept the fact that without America Phillippines is no were to be found. Any government without the approval of US couldnt exist.NPA is listed as terrorist group by the American government. So they dont have to assert any war against US because USA is all out war against terrorist groups. And they are among the list.

Hi....Icey I am agianst the most of the American policies. But in the case of Philippines with my limited knowledge, I am in favour of Philippines having ties with U.S to fight this terrorism. Again my opinion is that the Philippines Government and the NGOs should try to bring this terrorists to the main stream politics.
