Hey all you animal lovers just had to tell you my dog, Galeena did sooo good today. She didn't load too well---but once in the car she rode like a champ !! and without pills !!! But, unloading was a problem too---------------but we are working on that ! She laid down and would get up and look at me thru the rear view mirror and then outside and then laid back down ! What a girl :0)

Thanks, she is the best dog I've ever owned. She is 1/2 lab and 1/2 whatever! but talk about a number one sweetheart:) And, I was so afraid she'd give me trouble. You must be a dog lover too just like me to recognize a sweetie when you hear about one ! Thanks for responding:) quita88

Yeah she did great for a first time long ride of 20 mi. round trip. Stayed still while I was in the Bank and the post office, but bolted out when I got her back home:( Gotta work on that !! How are you? still have company? hugs, quita88

I am happy that Galeena did well even without tablets. I guess reassuring her that everything was going to be ok, did the trick:) You can get her out of the car by showing her something that she really likes such as a treat, or a suasage or bit of food.

When I was growing up we always had a dog. We had a black lab and that dog was so affectionate, mild tempered and made a great pet. The dog lived to be 18 before we finally had put her down. My puppy is only 4 pounds but she is just the best pet ever. I would recommend a Maltese to anyone wanting a lap dog. I love her so so much and really miss her.

I hope my galeena lives that long. She might outlive me------but who'd take care of her like I do? Do you know what that thought bothers me. I've had many, many dogs in my life time and put down a few myself. I just have gotten so blasted close to this one it pathetic ! She's such a smart dog. I do hope she rides good for me when we go back to Oklahoma. Never had a maltese. Never really had a lap dog tho either. I hope you really enjoy you puppy ! They bring so much into our lives don't they? thanks, quita88

I've never really even taken dogs with me cuz of shedding , butmostly cuz they could get out and get run over. I'd hate myself it that happened. But since we are going back to Oklahoma in Oct. I needed to get her trained to ride. She is a wonderful dog :) thanks for your response.

Awwwww, it seems to me that she's trying to get used to riding in the car but it's going to take some time. Our german shepherd isn't used to it either and will throw up or have diarrhea and do it in the car!! UGH!! We were going to keep up with taking him for rides till he got used to it but other things have come up so it's been put on the back burner once again but we'll get back to it eventually, GOD WILLING! lol

I'm glad to know that Galeena did so well today! Congratulations! She must have enjoyed the ride so well that she didn't want to get out, lol! Keep up the good work and it won't be long before she will be getting out as easy as she gets in. My dog, Prissy, just loves to go with me in the car. She thinks she has to go everywhere with me. Of course, I don't always let her go every where. Kathy.

oH, I'm sure prissy is a great doggie ! I think most dogs think they are human and want to know what is going on ! that means ridine in that car ! Yep, so glad she rode soooo well, but now to work on unloading. She bolted out when I got her home !! Don't want that to happen on the highways !! Gosh, I'd die if something happened to her ! But, thanks for your kind response. quita88
