Green Stuff on my soil

Hey all. I've been doing a container garden on my porch. I'm growing veggies (mostly varieties of greens/lettuce). Well, I'm starting to notice some spots where the soil seems to be turning green. I'm wondering what this is. Is it safe? Can I eat the veggies grown in this soil. Can I reuse the soil? Thanks.

It's probably moss or maybe a fungus, but either way, as long as it's not on the vegetables, they should be safe. You may be overwatering or the soil may not be getting enough direct sunshine. Try withholding water and setting the plants where they can get several hours of sun and see if that makes a difference.

Could it be moss? When it rains a lot my soil becomes green, but it's just moss growing. Shouldn't be anything wrong with the veggies.
