hello everyone, whenever i have to call my friend i always use the term "bro". i don't know why, but that's the truth. this doesn't apply to girls, i haven't seen a girl calling her friend as "sis". but calling male friends as bro is quiet common. let's see how many of you call your friends by their name and how many call by "bro" have a nice day.. enjoy and happy my lotting!!!

I'm too old...and female...to be calling anyone "bro", so I don't but my step son and son-in-law call their friends that from time to time. My daughters don't call their friends "sis". The slang that females sometimes use is "girlfriend"...which I don't normally use. I do have a friend from up north...a woman originally from Detroit...who calls me that once in awhile when we talk on the phone, so I do, too.

Hi I'm female and I don't call my friends as "sis" but I have been called by some as "sis" not my friends but these people are so religious that they call "sis" as sisters in Christ or whatever. Then most men here who are in fraternities call their men friends as Bro and I have heard some women also call them as bro and them as sis in return when the organization is both a fraternity and sorority.

I don't say it, but a few of my male friends call one another "bro", though. It is sort of in a joke sense, though. We also use the word bro to describe a type of guy. Like, "Oh Jim? He's such a bro". That would be a young guy, who probably parties all the time, might not be too bright, probably wears polos with popped collars, maybe plays lacrosse, amongst other things. That's a somewhat different use of the term "bro" though, but I guess a bro might say bro, too.
