If you’re going to share your place with someone, what gender would you prefer?

If you happen to live alone, would it be ok for you to share your home with someone? Say a friend, a relative or even a sibling? Me, I would prefer sharing my home with a woman. Not because I am a woman myself but I don’t like my place to be messy and women, well, they definitely would know how to clean the house. I have not really given thought of sharing my house and don’t really plan to share it with someone but the reason why I came up to with this discussion is because of my brother’s recent visit in my place. He was here for 5 days and good thing he has left already. Boy, he is messy in the house and I don’t like to be living with someone who doesn’t know how to help out in the cleaning. He does nothing while he was here. All he did was surf the net. His stuffs are placed everywhere in the house and its irritating seeing him doing nothing while I am the one fixing his stuffs. So I figured, I don’t like to be sharing my place with a guy, or with him or better yet with anybody else. I’d rather live alone and maintain a clean home.

hi iskayz. i think i would also go for a female gender, being a housemate, rather than a male. i agree with you, that women are more responsible in the household. that's only, if i can chose and i am alone, like what it says by this topic. but for sure, i can't choose anyone. as long as they need a place and i trust the guy, then gender does not matter.

I'd definitely like to share my house with a woman, and most definitely not a family member. While I was growing up, my parents and my sister were always on my back for not keeping a clean and organized room, but I just had it organized in my own way! They just didn't understand how I kept my stuff. I would want to share it with someone who doesn't mind things looking slightly cluttered, but everything is always out of the way.

Hehe I know what you mean. Family members sharing the house with you means there is someone who will always look an eye on you.. I also don't like that. I don't like it when others would tell me how I should do things. That's why I prefer living alone.

I would share the house with my friends. We in college days promised to each other that we friends will never part and will live together in the same house and live our lives their itself.I love cleaning the house so that responsibility would be mine while my friend who do the outside works like bringing vegetables and housery items.

Hello iskayz though I am a man I hate untidy house. If I were also at your place that would maybe what I would feel...we'll sharing our house from someone or anybody from our friends and relatives that they are really badly needed can't be avoided. We'll maybe a couple of days I could tolerate of whatever type of man she/he would be in my house, but staying beyond on my limitation would not be good. I would find some other means to let this "boarder" of mine "fly away"...just take it easy...cheers!

hello. i like to share it with a woman. probably some one who's pretty, intelligent and probably who's dying to be with me every-night. that would have been a very comforting situation

i love to share my room with some one with whom i am comfortable.. i mean that my night sleep has no breaker from opposite side,my things are well cared by them and most important my privacy is not violated.

Hi ansh! Well, everybody wants to be comfortable if they are going to live with someone. So with your response, I presume it doesn't matter if that someone is a guy or a woman. Privacy is one of my concerns why I prefer to live alone. I'd like to be able to walk around the house anytime even in my nighties.

Luckily for me, I am Married and hope it will always stay that way and never have to rent out any of our rooms, or share our place. But if I was Single since I am a female, they would have to be Female and I would definately have to do a Credit check before I could share a place with anyone again. Too many people have no habits of paying Bills, etc. and no consideration of others so the thoughts of having to share a place ever again scares me for sure.

While at College I tried life in a Bedsit,b&b accommodation, and in Shared houses, and later when renting my own place, subrenting a spare bedroom..I didn't enjoy being on my own,so would prefer to be sharing with someone..but if it's a one-on-one share, you need to assess the person You plan to invite for compatibility reasons..the Neat Person/Slob thing is only going to end in tears, and the same with a smoker/non smoker, party animal/hermit..whoever said opposites attract never had to live with their polar opposite!

Hi iskayz, personally I'd prefer a dog, followed by a girl, and then by a guy. Ideally, a child, even if the child makes everything a mess, and adds to my chores. :) But if grown ups do that - except my father - I wont be as forgiving. LOL. My father is quite like a child. :) I have myself let go of many things of late because there is no point in me focusing on that. My father is anyway going to make a mess. So - even if I do, I will end up raising my blood pressure, and hurting him. That is why I have compromised. But I do like - no I do love neat homes. :)

Personally i am a loner but if i had to share a house with someone I'd hare it with a female room mate. that would make me feel comfertable. as long as she cooked and helped out that's fine.
