Tonight i was planning to set a budget of $25 for weekly expenses on our food alone. excluding the soap and toothpaste or any thing that are not food. So i am planning to cut out on my consumption of bottled juice, powder juice, and other groceries that are not essential and not good for health. and so i am planning to cook vegetables more like green beans, bean sprouts and etc. ha ha. tofu on tomato sauce or paste with some vegetable. actually i can save money. just lately i was trying to eat a lot of fish for health reason that is why my expenses was bigger. and so if i stick with old food that are cheap and still healthy i think that i can save a lot of money.

I don't, but I may have to start because I have no money and I want to be able to eat well. My food budget is seriously limited at the moment but I always manage to find thing sto make. I usually look for things on sale or for things that I can buy at the dollar store or something like that. It is important to to be able buy nutritious mood for less.

Wow- sounds like a good plan but do you really think $25/ week is enough. Veggies alone can be very expensive and yes they are very healthy, but tofu (really expensive). Are you buying just for you... if so then maybe 25 is enough. I know for our family of 4 I spend over 150/ week and that doesn't include paper products, toothpaste, lanudry products, etc... Good Luck and let us know how it goes!

that does not include toiletries and other essential items that are not food. yes, $25 seems to be too small budget for 4 people at my home. i don't know if we can subsist on food on that budget. i may increase it a bit if it is not possible. but at least i will try to cut out on many non essential things. and this needs lot of planning indeed. since i had done so many planning before. i will just try to do all those plan that helped me saved before. we get to spend a lot because we eat healthy. but if i stick to my plan i may give up on some healthy foods as well that are expensive.

yes, i have a fixed budget for food and other items which we buy weekly on saturdays. it may go a little high or go down a little from the budgeted amount because of some exigencies. yes, there are things we need to delete from our weekly list, if not, minimize buying. in these hard times, we need to be very practical in our ways.
