Not Ready to Call Obama the Worst

It's too soon to say Barack Obama is the worst President we've ever had. Besides, Jimmy Carter is holding on tightly to that title, but Obama is the President who scares me the most. It's not just his politics. It's the fact that the liberal Democrats have a majority in the House and Senate. I know this situation has happened before, but Washington, in the past, didn't seem to have the kook fringe (as Rush calls them) it has today. Any thoughts? Do you agree or disagree?

No, I wouldn't consider Obama the worst president, even with his current actions. Carter wasn't the worst either, he was just ineffective and inept. The ones who are the worst would have to work as hard at being terrible as the best presidents work at being great. FDR comes to mind.

I would have to put FDR down as one of the worst.

I think Obama is like a puppet now, he does what he is told. He changed all his previour views rather fast and is doing something totally different now. I did like one thing he said recently though about Kanye West lol.

Who, would you say, is pulling the strings?

Barack Obama is Jimmy Carter with training wheels, lol! I can see him trailing after Carter, crying, "Da da! Da da!"

He hasn't quite gotten there, but he seems to be heading in that direction.

Obama makes me uneasy, too. I'm bothered by some of his associations. I think he's extremely clever, but in a devious way. I don't like that he seems to have us on a fast path toward socialism. And one of the main problems I have with Obama, which isn't his fault, is the way people have just become stupid about him. He's a man, that's it. He neither walks on water, nor is he the antichrist or the reincarnation of Hitler. He'll do some things right, he'll do some things wrong; but just because we disagree with some of his policies doesn't mean we're racist, and I'm sick of that being the tag placed on anyone who disagrees with him. But as far as being either the best or worse president we've had, it's just too soon to tell.

I think some people who thought Obama walked on water are finding out that he can't. I too am getting tired of the racist tag. I think it's some peoples way of saying, "I don't have a good argument to counter yours, so I'll just call you a racist. That will show you".

The fact that the Democrats have the majority over both houses is very unsettling to say the least. The other fact that has come out that they don't even take the time to read the bills is very disturbing as well. We PAY their salaries just so they will do the work of formulating the bills after MUCH investigation that only they have the time to do - as that is their ONLY JOB. But it is NOT happening the way I was taught in Civics class; the bills were supposed to be researched to the "nth" degree before they were taken from the committees. The "Constitution" was supposed to be followed as they were writing these said bills - which we're also seeing they want to ignore what the founding forefathers passed as the framework for our government. The money that they have just written off is astounding; they think that it will literally appear from nowhere, evidently. Consequently we are in deep ditches filled with "you know"!

Not reading the bills the Congress is voting on is bad enough. Now we find out the stimulus bill wasn't even written by them but by the Apollo Alliance. Why exactly are we paying these so called representatives?

...Hi there, Can we talk. Now I can tell from your comments that you lean right, which is fine, we need diversity. But we also need reality. For the previous eight years prior to the last election, this country has been put through the most devastating of economic conditions that I in my lifetime have ever seen. Some 15 or more states, including California and Pennsylvania and New York are suffering fiscal problems that could last 10 or more years, why because of the policies enacted through tax cuts for the rich, two wars which basically bankrupted the country, non regulating of the banking and financial industries, sub-prime home loan financing through adjustable rate mortgages lead by Alan Greenspan, which gave rise to the mortgage foreclosure crisis (Greenspan himself confessed to a sub-committee that he was at fault). Whose administration was at the head of all this, not Jimmy Carters, check your calendar, you may see Bush/Cheney or the other way around if truth be told. Some of this mess can be traced back to Mr. Clinton, when they disposed of the Glass/Segal Act which monitored Wall Street. Mr. Obama is one of the smartest Presidents we have ever had, as some reporter said in an interview, he is too smart, and hopefully, the people he has around him will help to turn this ship around before we go over the falls. We are in a trick, and if you are not aware of just how bad it is, I suggest you research and turn off the bias. We are all in this together. I only worry that Obama will try to do too much at one time, it must be paced. There is no one, no one who has done so much damage to this country as president, than the one who just left and went back to Texas. One thing I can say that he did, which was superb was to give funds to fight aids in Africa, that was a great thing. Otherwise, please, he destroyed relationships with America's allies, which someone said will take twenty years to rebuild, but we are on our way with this president. Please try to find other heroes and resources besides Rush, his judgment is not too clear, he's happy with his multi-million dollar contract, but his take on things leaves much to be desired, think for yourself, and consider multiple ideas and resources. Take care and thanks for reading my chatter. Have a good day. Hope we can chat again. :o)

Isn't it amazing how two people can be in the same place and see things entirely differently. I didn't see the last eight years, prior to the most resent election, as the most devastating economic conditions. As a matter of fact, I didn't see things going south until 2006 when the Democrats got the majority back in both the House and Senate. Now I will admit that the Republicans spent too much money when they had the majority. That's why many didn't vote for them in 2006. They didn't keep their promise to keep the government small. Now as far as those 15 states go, what does that have to do with the federal government or the President? States have their own government and are responsible for themselves. If they are suffering fiscal problems, it's their own fault. It's not the responsibility of the federal government to bail them out. If Alan Greenspan wants to take credit for any part he played in the economics of our country today, that's his business. At least he admits his fault. Where are Barney Franks and Chris Dodd? They have a lot to answer for themselves, but I don't see them accepting any of the blame for the mess that came out of the housing market. About the wars, I would rather have a President who spends money trying to keep us safe than one who turns tail. And those so called friends, they're not our friends and never have been. I've been to Europe enough times to know how much they care for the United States, just enough to help themselves. Now if Obama is so smart as you say he is, why does he have to lie? Why is he not keeping the promises he made during the election? I hope you will take your own advise and "turn off the bias". George W. Bush didn't do any damage to this country. If you want to blame anyone, look to the House and the Senate and to ourselves for continuing to elect the same people over and over who keep doing the same things.

Yes the economic problems that we are having started long ago, and nothing was done about it then. BUT This administration is not doing anything either, Only spending more money and making it worst. The people he has a round him are tax evaders, and he even had a communist in his circle. (Gone now but he was their) I am glad for people like Rush, and Glen Beck, Because they bring up stuff that we do need to think about, and it is not just for this administration but they have brought up stuff about all of them that they feel is not right. I think that people are starting to think for them selves and are starting to pay attention because of what is going on. and we are not going to stand for it any more.

...Hi there well the computer ate my response so your angels saved you from my robust utterings :o) Please check out the unemployment rates, the millions of people looking for jobs, the thousands of small business closings, and on and on. Research some editorials and the reasons for the economic slump in the country. We do have three branches of government and there is enough blame to go around. But as Truman once said "The buck stops here", those in charge are responsible. You take care and keep on keeping on. Have a good weekend and remember we can always agree to disagree, wouldn't you agree? :o)
