Hey, Nope I have never kept a backup of my files, I just hope that one day my computer won't crash on me or anything like that. If that would happen, all my files would be completely gone, I would feel quite bad honestly. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Well, yes, vinoth007, I do.I even keep a double backup on important files. I keep copies on a disk or USB, and I upload very important files (like my address directory, telephone numbers, stuff like that) to my email inbox, where I created a file for it. So even in a national emergency (no more electricity, ALL computers infected by a cyber attack, the whole works....)I could leave the country and still recover my files (I forgot, in that imaginary national emergency my house burned down and destroyed my backup discs LOL) Your post is good, but in some form or another you can find similar posts ever since computers and the Internet were invented. And they are mostly, if not all, by people who have lost data. I´m sorry for your loss, but there is some balsam in it. People you really care about and who care about you will sooner or later call you. Good Luck.

yes, for my work document, I usually back up some important files to our department public disk and I also back up some my personal files to my mobile hard disk. and I also have a smart phone, blackberry 8310, I will sync my phone files with my computer. I think it should be a very good habit for us in my common life.

Yes, I regularly back up my files, if it is an important document, I will immediately back up, such as the backup to U disk, mobile hard disk, of course, very important document, I will collate them, burn them to disc, I think this is a good habit, without backup, if your hard drive is damaged, you hard collate information will be lost.

I don't, but I should. I don't have one single backup of any of my files, critical or otherwise, and I know I'm just waiting for one day something to happen and I'll lose... everything. I mean, I have musics, videos and stuff, those I don't really care so much for if I lose them or not, but there are images that would be a terrible pain to recover, some outright impossible, plus data that has some important value that I have almost no where else, save another computer which is older and I don't know when the HDDs are bound to kick the bucket. I do intend to start making a few backups more regularly... eventually.

i dont say regularly . but i maintain a one time backup of each of the file which is very importent to me. most of the cases i take the backup datewise of my development projects so that if any major error occured i can go back to the previous one and restore that. for mobile i have the one time backup of my mobile contacts and other files.

Anything I have that's a bit more sensitive, I keep in a pair of pen drives, one kept in a safe, the other is the one that usually goes around with me.
