cmdr001 responded to a discussion called Do you pay money for internet? in internet.

Paid service. There is no public (free) Wi-Fi hotspot around my place, so my only solid solution would be to have cable or DSL service, the latter option being my choice. Fast, reasonably cheap, secure, and I do with it whatever I want. Wanting to rely uniquely on hotspots isn't too useful because there are so many downsides to it that it's only really interesting to make use of such t...

Launch one then! Pay high! Then when you see your service dead, you will understand why the world spins like that. People often seem to forget a few things in these systems and that is, it's not just for you to make money, it's for the site owner to make money as well. In addition to that, not only the advertisers pay only so much but there are also server costs to be held in account. On t...

Something else. Chances are that probably had your CPU busy with something else, unless you have really that little RAM that even a little choke of the CPU will cause you to fail the burn. Additionally, there's always the chance that your burner could have a problem on its cache (Internal RAM if you didn't know) which while uncommon isn't impossible. I'm guessing you did so before, so the...

cmdr001 responded to a discussion called Can Pendrive be easily effected by virus in compare of USB hard drive?? in computer.

Well, your friend is, and I'm afraid to say this: Dumb! Not what I think, but fact, a pendrive gets infected just as easily a hardisk. Doesn't matter if it's USB, Firewire, E-SATA, whatever, it's all the same. If you can write data into it, a virus can lodge itself on that unit. Virus are small programs that lodge themselves in memory and either wait for you to run a program to contamina...

I wonder if you'll still even find a regular Pentium 4 at this time. Even Celerons now seem all on the basis of Dual Cores. Anyway, it really depends on what you may want to do and what other equipment you'll have to back that up. After all, a computer isn't -just- the CPU. If you really want to do basic home stuff and do some simple web browsing, the P4, even the Atom may do... I'd suggest ...

Chances are I'd just cover my mouth and snicker on the inside. Now, some people do boast about their knowledge. One tends to think of experienced Hackers, both kinds, would be reserved people who hid their abilities but the fact is that many and even in real life like to come up front and tell "I can do this!" to show off some, or at least, try to because they may actually know less than wha...

There is absolutely nothing to get confused about. You can write data into it, you can write virii in there too. I see your replies to other users and I can see how you're commenting how it's "Very different" and there's "Speed differences". You are indeed getting confused because that makes no difference whatsoever! I'm guessing your friend stuck that idea on your head as well?It doesn'...

"Heavy user, go for advanced like Intel atom" "choose processing speed more than 2.5 ghz" What!? Do you even realize where the Atom stands? I mean, your statement contradicts itself. Atom CPUs are -not- for heavy use even though they are recent CPUs. They are low power consumption, medium performance CPUs. With a frequency about as high as 2GHz for a single core (512KB cache), or a 1.6...

There is the chance, but you'll actually have to look at your motherboard's manual (Or tell what is the motherboard and we'll have a look). I actually had back a while ago exactly the same plan. Grab a Core 2 Duo, stuff it in my P4, and pronto! An upgrade to over the double of the speed by 50 euros. Unfortunately, my motherboard is a bit too old and doesn't support multi-core CPUs which thre...

It's interesting to see people mentioning "Good firewalls". Now, I don't really have any idea of how well versed in IT you are, but, if you are an expert in the field you'll know that a firewall only needs to be "so good" and that's usually less than what people amount, since a firewall is only so good as its user. I mean, what's the point of having the most expensive firewall in the mark...
