I visit salon once a year to trim /cut my hair. For the past few years, I have been rebonding my hair. It makes my hair easily to manage. Every morning, I don't even need a comb to comb my hair, just use my fingers to touch my hair bit here and there and it looks straight and nice. But I am getting bored with straight hair. So last year, I decided to change my hair style. My hair stylist suggested me to go for perm.Okie, not a bad idea. Last year Nov, I went to perm my hair and same time do colouring. It is my first time perming and colouring my hair. I was so excited to see my new look and lucky it suit my face. Perming hair need more work for me to do. I have to apply some gels everytime I washed my hair to make my hair looks nice.I have to spend about 5-10mins to get ready for my hair itself. Year end is coming forward soon and I am still considering whether to change my hair style again for this year. Let's share with me how often do you visit the salon to cut your hair? What kind of hair style do you prefer? Do any colouring/hair treatment? Happy Weekend!!

Hai Shia, For me, I wish to cut my hair more often because I had a thick, curly and wavy hair. But in fact, I am like you too. cut my hair once a year. And with that, I have to find the right time to saloon as I need my husband to take care of my girl. I have done straightening to my hair several times, but it curls back very soon. So I guess I would not want to spent the money and time to do that again. I remembered every time the hairstylist took about hours to do that. Actually I like straight hair a lot. Easier to manage and I think I look younger with straight hair. I never dye my hair. I heard that it would makes hair more dry if did not do proper hair treatment ourselves. So I think I will leave it with natural black colour hair.

Hi Shuetyeng, I also need someone to takacare my boy when I have my haircut. That's why I do it once a year.Normally,I will get my mother-in-law to help takecare my boy when I go salon. It takes at least 3-4 hours to get my hair done. Actually I prefer the natural black colour hair, but my hair stylist adviced me for colouring when I have my hair perm.I chose brownish red colour for my hair and it suited me. Hair treatment need to be done once you have permed your hair. It will helps your hair looks not too dry and easier to manage.

Hi Shuet Yeng, How I wish I can have thick and curly hair like you! I have so little hair , more ever my hair is so thin, I just don't like it. ! May I ask you that you have got your curly hair natural or you perm to get the curly hair? Most of my friends like to do rebonding hair, they said it make them look younger too, LOL. But instead they aren't old at all. Shia, I think nce you get your hair perm, hair treatment is important right? How often do you do treatment for your hair?

Hi Vingyan, I will have my own hair treatment at home once a month. When I went to perm my hair, my hair stylist will recommend to me what kind of hair treatment gel that is suitable for my hair and I will grab a bottle at home. It is more easier to do it myself as I no need to be out of home so often. I always need someone to help me takecare my boy when I am out to salon. Since you have thin hair, do you ever consider to perm your hair? After perming, at least your hair looks more and not that thin. Check out with your hair stylist what kind of style that suit your face before you make your decision.

Dear Shia, I trim my hair every 3 to 4 months once. I kept my hair at shoulder length. I was thinking of doing rebonding too. But in Kuala Lumpur it is a bit pricey, unless my husband willing to sponsor. Great to know that perm do suits you. How much does it cost you to do the rebonding? How much did it cost you for your perm and treatment? Do try any hairstyle you like, get some advise from the salon consultant or senior stylist...they will know how to see whether it suits your face shape. You are still young, be adventurous with your style...great topic!

Hi Iriene, It seem that you trim you hai quite often too. I also keep my hair at shoulher length last time. Last year I decided to perm my hair and I keep my hair slightly longer so that It will looks nicer. For rebonding and perming hair,it costs more than trimming. At my place here, I always spend about RM300++ for either rebonding or perming. And for hair treatment ,they charge me at discounted price because I have done my rebonding/perming at their salon. For Hair treatment, it will depend on what which kind of ingredient you would like to use. The better the ingredient hair treatment,of course, it will be more pricey,it can reach from RM30-Rm60/treatment. Actually you can purchase the hair treatment gels from the salon and you just need to bring your hair treatment gel to the salon and asked the hair stylist to do the treatment for you and it cost lesser, around RM25/treatment. Kuala Lumpur is a high cost living country and for sure, I am living at East Malaysia. I believe the hair treatment and perming and rebonding at my place here is cheaper compared to Kuala Laumpur. Actually I went to Johor Bahru before to do rebonding, if not mistaken, 6 years back, and they charged me RM 300 for shoulder length hair. They charge the cost depend on the length of your hair. For me, it is worthy to spend more on my hair ,as long as I get the best hair treatment and the style suit my face.

Shia.. the previous discussion I mentioned that I prefer long hair.. while I had my waist long hair, I visited the salon every 3 months to trim them and do some treatment to maintain the hair..and once a year, I do a major change to my hairstyle. Now, having short hair, I got to visit the salon more often to trim the hair length, as then my hair can grow better. Every time I visited the salon I will need to get a trim for my hair, and also do the treatment too. Now I find maintaining a long hair is more economical than short hair..

Shia.. yup, I spend less time in salon when I have my long hair, but same amount of money spend coz I keep them like you and do it once a year too! so, we only save on the petrol and time spend.. not the money ah..

Hi Cwong, Concerning about my hair, I am willing to spend more on it as long as my hair got a good treatment. I don't dare to visit all those mini salon at my housing areas,as I am not sure the product quality they are using is good or not. Of course, It does not mean I will go to highclass salon for my hair. At least, I will visit those medium level salon to get my hair done. Need to work harder to save money for my haircut again in the next 2 months.

Hi Cwong, Since you are having short hair, you need to trim your hair more often to keep it always in a good shape.Where else ,for long hair, there is no need to go salon that often. Like me, I go to salon only once a year.Save my money, right? But once I am there at the salon, at least spend RM300. Year end is coming forward and I am going to spend money on my hair soon.

I cut my hair once in every two months. The cost of cutting hair in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur is RM10 in Indian Hair Saloon. However, when I am in Penang, it will cost me about RM7.00 per cut. I did coloured my hair before but lately I did not. I like to see girls with long hair, more feminine!

Hi James, The cost of cutting hair in Kuala Lumpur is not expensive. At my place here,it cost Rm12 (include cutting and washing). Penang is even cheaper than Kuala Lumpur/Petaling Jaya. So what is your favourite hair colour? I believe your wife must have long hair too. Alot of guys like to see girls in long hair, looks more feminine and sexy.Is it true?? That's mens talk and should ask more guys for this comment.

I have got straight & silky hair.So I don't have to comb hair as I can manage it just with my hand in mins.I also don't like so long hair as it troubles me coming to my eye everytime. So I get my hair cut once in 2 months.I also haven't coloured my hair yet. When I feel long hair & don't wanna give a touch I use a cap.

Hi rbn, Having a straight and silky is a blessing for every girl.I really wish I can have silky hair too,but too bad my hair is not soft and silky enough. Now I have permed my hair, definitely it won;t looks soft as my hair is on curly mode. I have to use gels to make the curve out. However, i love my new hair style. It is just I need more time to manage my hair nowadays,at least 10-15 mins to get myself ready to go out.

Hi Komikomi, Do you mean that you shaved away all your hair?? Why? Is it due to hot wheather?? It makes me curious. You can simply trim it short, but not bold.

Hello Shia, I tried rebonding my hair too, but that was very long time ago, before i get married. ! It was good as I didn't need to take care of the hair and it looked nice and straight all the time. I go to cut my hair a few times in a year. When I get irritating with my hair, I will go trim it. I used to keep long hair all the while until I have children. I find that it is more easy take acre the hair in short rather than long hair. I like to color my hair too. I color my hair once a year. I do it every year before Chinese New Year. I never perm my hair. You are right, after perming the hair you need more works to do to take care the hair and more money to spend on it? All my sisters perm their hair but I still not give out my first try. This is because I feel that if I perm my short hair it will make me look older,

Hi Vingyan, My advice to you is that never perm your hair if you are having a short hair. It will looks very weird. Normally I will keep my hair below my shoulder and last year when I went to the salon to trim my hair, sametime I asked my hair stylish what model suited my face as i wanted to change my look. He suggested me to try on perming. I am so worried that it won't suited my face as I have a round face. My hair stylish said,it should be alright for me as i have a long hair.If I have a short hair at that point of time, for sure,it is not suitable to perm my hair,or else, my face will look even bigger and I will look older too. Actually I like to go for rebonding, Easi to takecare my hair and no comb is needed. But after being rebonding for few years, I started to get sick of it. Year end is comin forward and I am still considering whether I should perm my hair or rebond my hair before I go back to my hometown in December.

Hi Satan, Everybody want to be look nice in public place. Cutting hair will make us looks fresher and better.Just a normal hair cut won't cost alot. The most expensive part is to do either perming or straightening and colouring/Dying. So do you colour/dye your hair? Any colour that you prefer?Mind to share !! Thank you.
