One of the advantage of long absense from myLot....

.... is that you have too many options in your mailbox from which you can choose rather than sufring over the internet, isn't it? I have deleted over 1500 notifications but still I have over 400 of them wating for me which will increased everyday by 10 or 20. Today, I had a little time to do net from my friends' laptop and I am really ahppy that I have so many dicussions in my mailbox waiting for me. At the same time, I would like to appologize to my friends that I can't opt to answer all of them as you can understand that even if I give 5 minutes to every discussion, it will take almost 40 hours to answer all of them!

It is nice to see that you are back on mylot again! Hopefully you can get our own computer in the near furture! Take your time catching up! If other people on Mylot don't like that just remember their not in your situation! No apologizes needed far as I'm concern! I'm just happy your back!

I am not sayng that I have come back to this site and will spend 4-5 hours every day, which I used to do 4 months ago. I was mad about this site and one day I did more than 12 hours of myLotting. My parents were after me for lunch and dinner but I didn't do anything but doing only myLot. That is the reason why I miss this place very much and come back whenever I get time to do it!

Wow. This is precisely the reason I don't get such email notifications! Too much to keep track of. I think I do a good job communicating and responding to friend's discussions and such, but I don't want 2000 emails!!

That's a lot of notifications all right! I'm just glad I check my email everyday and sometimes than once a day. I don't think I could handle 2000 emails,! Kathy.

Well, it took them 2 months to send 2000 emails in my mailbox. It has been again 15 days since I didn't check my notifications and it went to 450 again! Yes, Kathy these are just far too many to answer!

yes, I have deleted almost 2000 of them but still it is around 450 and to make the matter worse, I have started two discussions which increased my notifications by 30. Seems, I need to learn how to cover up the work here at myLot! LOL!

Hi sanuanu, I know what you mean, I have been away from myLot for awhile and the notifications can mount up very quickly. I think the best way is to just go with the recent discussions.

You are right. and that is what I do with them! The first page of my inbox, gets the priority. By the time I reach the 3rd page, I get tired and most importantly the times up too, hence..

Yes there is no way I would be able to catch up with discussions in my inbox. So just go with the new ones, that is how I found yours

Hi sanuanu! Your come back in mylot is most valuable than any thing else. Some time ago I thought about you, but thought that you might be busy in work. In job some time person doesn’t have time to use site sometime. But just was missing you and your discussions. Where were you for this long time? In first discussion you should share what did you do in you absence from mylot. I want one of the discussion from you about that topic. Have a nice day!!

I don't get the email notifications as I knew that it would mean that my mailbox would be full of them. I prefer to come to the site and see what is being posted. I like taking time from here because then it seems that I can always find something to write about. I like this site but I do find that there are times that I need a break or I get mylot burnout.

Hi Carol, how are you doing? I remember when i didn't use to get email notifications and my days were too boring as I had to surf and find interesting topics. One of the advantage which i got from notifiers that I get good topics posted into my mail box!

When I get behind I will often delete a whole day just so that I can catch up. There are just to many when I have missed a day. But I am glad to have a lot of discussions to pick from.

Yes, that is the advantage. Before deleting I try to find disucsion which ican answer! Should I turn my notifiers off? Answer is negative because that would take more than 2 hours for me!

Answering from mailbox is obviously a real big advantage..We don't miss out on friends but when I am absent from myLot I generally delete the notifications as because when I will get time to respond by then the discussions will be resolved or the person would not care if I respond or not...1500 is a huge number to surf through..you have patience..All the best and hope you enjoy this stay here in myLot..Have a nice time!

If I have a month's time, I can finish my job but the problem is that I dn't even have 30 proper minutes to serve those notifications. I am upto 5 notification every day and I am gettting atleast 20 of them every day! So, the number gets increased every day!

I have been very busy these days and I have had a lot of notifactons pile up in my inbox. A lot has gone unwansers becase of this. so I try to play cahtch up when I can. I can't spend a of time on every disscussion so I just answer the disscuions I can quickly answer or disscuonns that I can answer easilyl.

I had no problem with these emails until today. I can reply all of them. Just yesterday I posted a discussion will you take your laptop when you are on holiday? It seems popular one. For now I received over 40 replies. I’m very pleased with it, but now I want to reply all the responses and I feel a little busy. I think I will handle this situation but I need a couple of days to do it.

Yes, it is always good to have more respones to our discussion, the pain in it is that you have to take care about each and every responses to it, isn't it? Congrats and I hope that you will produce such good discussion in future also. Belive it or not but if you are creating good dicsussion then you are indirectly helping myLot!

I guess you could call that an advantage because you won't have to search for topics anymore. But you really do need to do some catching up. I think you would be able to do that quickly seeing as you have so many topics to choose from. Good luck on posting and I hope you earn a big amount for those posts.

You win some you loose some, is'nt it? The good things is that one should look at the positive side of it. If one would start thinking that s/he needs to catch up then it would be a tedious job for them!

haha, that's like facebook notifications then. Its great that your friends are very active. You have many discussions to read through then. Maybe you would like disable the notifications as some people do? Might make things easier for yourself.

Wow! So really, how much should one expect to earn from myLot every month? I joined a year ago but just started being active like 3 days ago. I'm starting with .17 cents. haha. Although, I am enjoying the discussions here.

Hi sanuanu, what you have said is very much like my inbox only at the moment I havrn't got 1000 emails there but do have 700, it would take me hours to answer all of them too but also some are from a site that I am admin on so my inbox is forever getting fuller and fuller. There are a lot of discussions from myLot too so hope that all my friends can bare with me as their discussions will get answered but not as quickly as I would like them to...LoLo

Oh, you are an admin to one site, that is great. My friend here, with whom I am living, is also an admin to one of the site but his inbox didn't get many mails. Yes, I think if I will start from mail number 1 then they would think that "where was this guy when i strted this discussion" LOL!

Good to see you back sanuanu, sometimes when you have so many notifications and you are so far behind you are better off deleting them all and start dealing with the current ones that come through because trying to catch up would take forever! As far as I’m concerned I don’t get upset if my friends don’t respond to all of my discussions because I don’t respond to theirs sometimes due to time restraints. When I am here everyday I keep pretty much up to date nicely but, as you know all you need are a few days away and it all goes into disarray and trying to work your butt off to catch up becomes a stress instead of the fun it should be. Anyway welcome back!

The one thing I liked about myLot that even if I am not that good at posting, still people love me and welcoming me again and again, whenever I come back. That is why I love my friends at myLot and do feel bad when i can't answer to their discussion, afterall, I have made certain expectation in their mind and if I don't fulfil those, some sad feeling I also get! but let's see if I can make out enough responses to make them happy!

Don't worry. We all understand. At least I do because I've seen for myself how much time mylot takes, plus I have to answer some of my other emails. I enjoy mylot, though. Kathy.

Yes, I don't have my pc with me. It is in my hometown and these days I am in New Delhi doing a job to feed my family. Isn't it satisfying for me that I got a job after 2 long year of gap!

I don't have a lot of friends, but I love being notified. That way I can keep up with my friends post without having to look for them which is even more time consuming. I check my mail two or three times a day so I'm not worried about them piling up.
