Dirk Kuyt has previously been underated as a striker, but is now scoring consistantly, although not all pretty goals, he is becoming more instinctive after being allowed to play a more natural role. A striker should be a goal poacher in and around the box ready to pounce on any loose ball or half chance. Do you think this is what Liverpool have been lacking the last couple of seasons....?

Kuyt was always a good striker but he is not being played in that position, so he will get goals but he would get far more if he was allowed to partner Torres as a a front two. Kuyt has been one of the hardest working players in the Liverpool team in the last couple of years and runs up and down the wing attacking and defending and you never hear him complain about being played out of position.

Agree about the last. He is the hardest working player, but I like seeing him as a wing instead of an attacker.

Kuyt does give 110% in 99% of games,he is brave and works his socks off.. and deserves more goals than he has got to date, although he has come up with some very very important goals for us.........

That's true. It's nothing wrong with Kuyt. But I think Liverpool will be better when he is a wing instead of an attacker. You said he deserved more goals then he has scored. The statistics in one thing, but I think he has a heart for the club and it more important that we win instead of he scoring.

Hi CEVCEV, I think Dirk Kuyt is more wing then striker. And he play his part more effectively there. He is like a midfielder. He is in every inch of the field. Always run and run and never get tired of it. He always give his best to the team. Even though Gerrard is the main character in Liverpool team but you can see him down sometime. You can not see that in Kuyt. Even though he does not score a lot of goals for Liverpool but his contribution is never been question. And if you say he is a striker then he is the striker that have a lot less goals scored but always got his name on the team first eleven list. That is shown how important he is in Liverpool team.

Liverpool does have the best duo in Premier League Torres and Gerrard. But now Gerrard plays defensive mid and ain't reaching Torres with his passes. I really hope this will be Lucas year, but I don't think so.
