Have you checked that the cds aren't scratched or have dust on them? If this happens with every cd, it could be that the player is damaged/the laser is no longer working properly - try a lens cleaner and see if that solves the problem (according to Record Collector magazine it's worth paying more for better quality ones instead of cheap 'pound shop/bargin bin' products, as they're more likely to cause damage themselves)
